A few of weeks ago, I got to meet the great hairdresser to the stars, Charles Worthington face to face as he (as his mega-brand) were the official hair partners for the 2010 Orange BAFTA Awards. Not only was he kind and handsome, but he was also incredibly interesting.
Whilst he set out in school to become an architect, he was slowly swayed into the glamorous world of hairdressing where he describes the parallels between the two industries as, "balancing hair with faces to create just the right structure."

For the premiere of The Runaways, Frederic Fekkai stylist Adir Abergel gave Kristen Stewart a punky pompadour. It's an unusual hairstyle that was perfect for the opening of a movie about rock 'n' roll.
If you're interested in going rocker chic, too, we got the breakdown from Abergel.

In the past, we've talked all about the various types of hairbrushes and we've talked all about bristles, but one basic tool I've neglected to mention as a hairstyling necessity is the ubiquitous comb.
If you've got shorter hair like me (dark-haired Bella), perhaps you find that when you blow-dry your locks, the combination of a styling brush and heat makes your tresses pouf out, resulting in what can only be described as mushroom head. Or perhaps you've got longer hair, and you still get the same ballooned-out effect.

Celebrity hairstylist Oribe is known for coiffing the tresses of stars like Jennifer Lopez, Cindy Crawford, and Beverly Johnson. At the Oscars, he created a simply chic updo for another A-list star: Penelope Cruz. Of her asymmetric Donna Karan gown, Oribe said, "The dress was a lot of dress, so therefore we just went with not doing too much hair."

Considering her string of style successes, it's no surprise that Diane Kruger was pure elegance on the Oscars red carpet. For her hairstyle, Pantene celebrity stylist Danilo created a contemporary chignon with a twist. The textured updo complemented the actress's Chanel gown, and it's easier to do than you might think.

Cameron Diaz's Oscars hairstyle was a throwback to Hollywood's golden era, reinterpreting Veronica Lake's classic waves for a new century. Her stylist, Lona Vigi, created a side-swept look to show off Cameron's Oscar de la Renta gown.
To get shiny hair, Vigi used Liqwd Professional Volumizing Catalyst spray before blow-drying Cameron's hair with a luxe Velecta Paramount Paris TGR 4000i dryer.

During the 1960s, hairstyles were a true art form. For Prada's Fall 2010 runway show in Milan, stylist Guido Palau brought the essence of the era back to the catwalk, as models walked the runway wearing perfectly coiffured chignons. "The look at Prada was all about classic French hairdressing done with a very chic uptown look with a nod to the '60s — a modern take on a classic, sophisticated look."

There's no denying that braids are having a moment. While there are countless ways to wear this twisted style, I'm really liking the casual sophistication a side braid provides to a look. Take Nicole Richie, who wore the messy-on-purpose version to the launch of her Winter Kate collection in Paris.

Even though the day started off grey and dreary in London, the weather took a turn for the better not only drying up, but also warming up! The beautiful Anna Kendrick arrived on the red carpet for tonight's awards show wearing a cheerful yellow Pucci cocktail dress and her hair was styed in a half updo with loose tendrils. In my opinion she looks youthful yet polished.
