Update: I didn't realize that I'd had the blog set that you needed a Google account to comment. I've fixed it so that anyone can comment. Please comment!

You guys may not know this, but some of us have gotten together to collaborate on a beauty blog.
I decided this morning to make one of the posts a petition to Urban Decay to ask them to change the primer potion packaging. Please visit this blog post and comment on it if you'd like UD to change the packaging.
After we get a bunch of comments, I will email the post to the folks at UD and see if we get any results.
You can post a comment at the bottom of the blog post, or by clicking here.
Also, please heart it on Sugarloving!
Thanks,
Whip

I posted on the blog Whip, thanks for making it and
1for letting us know about it. I really hope they
listen and change it. It's a great product but what
a huge waste!
I also hearted this! Hope that is ok

Nice blog!
3Is this stuff good? What does the package look like?
4I just posted a comment in the beauty booty blog..
5i am conflicted. even though i hoot and hollered about the packaging and then made a blog about me cutting it open, i now worry about them changing the packaging. someone made a good point that if they do they could seriously screw us again with less product for more money. at least with the current packaging we get what we pay for (even though it is a hassle to cut it open everytime).
6Well someone needs to raise that point to them also, it should
7be the same amount of product for the same price. If you are paying
$16 for 10 ml then you should get the use of the full 10ml
totally agree with Leopardcc!
8I didn't see that you had it on SugarLoving Whip! Sorry! I can
9remove my Sugarloving link if you want me to, just let me know.
I've never used this... they don't sell it here in Puerto Rico and Sephora does not ship either
10I do agree that if they change the packaging it should have the same amount of product.
This is something the beauty obsessed have known about for several months. I think it's great that you are trying to get everyone to sign a petition. While I understand that asking people to go to the site will drive up traffic, I think possibly you would have greater turnout if you used petitiononline.com and emailed the owners of other beauty blogs as well as some of the more well-known You Tube makeup gurus. You can ask that they include the link to that site if you want to drive up traffic (ie. The owners of beauty-booty.blogspot.com have started a petition etc.)
just a thought. =) I'd like to see it changed as well. But I'm sure Urban Decay must already know we cut them open and find it unfair. The genie bottle is adorable but must go. Think of the PR they could get if they repackaged, used a genie type stamp on the product and thanked the Beauty Booty blog for starting the tidal wave.
Would be glad to help if you need any. Good luck!
11I might be off, but Daisie, I am reading some harshness in your comment. It seems to include several inferences that that I don't think are totally fair.
12I don't use this stuff but still commented and signed for ya whip
awesome blog btw~
13Done and done, cool idea!

I just have a feeling they'll try and do something underhanded, make it cost more, even though they really shouldn't... I do think the bottle is really cute, tho, and I don't mind chopping it up. But I shall sign anyway.
15Oh, wow, I didn't know y'all had a beauty blog! Cool!!! You girls are so smart.
16This stuff must be beauty gold.
17Daisie, in no way have we even thought of "taking credit" if there was a change in packaging. It's on our blog because we think it would have a wider audience than if it were just here on Sugar.
18Bellaressa, it's amazing. My poweder shadow stayed on all day yesterday. Even through a shower!
19ohh wow, Coco. I am not a makeup girl, I don't wear it everyday but if I am going out I wear it. MMM. I may have to stop and get some.
20Dooo it! Its magic!
21Daisie why would you even insist that they are doing this to drive up traffic
I know these
girls and they are doing this petition because they truly want to show UD that they need to change their packaging. If UD has known about how crappy their packaging is and how unfair everyone
finds it then wouldn't they have made a change by now or at least a statement?
I'm not even a contributor to their blog but I really find your thoughts that they are doing this all for publicity, credit and to bring attention to the blog very insulting.
22I'm going to boycott buying my first bottle of UD until they change their packaging
23You ladies keep me on my toes.
24I signed!! Here's what I wrote (basically telling them I'm done with the product unless a change is made!!)
"Although the packaging looks good, it's just not condusive to the thickness of the product. I will not buy another bottle of Primer unless the packaging is changed to a more "user friendly" bottle. Cutting another bottle open is not an option for me anymore. I'd like to see results, or I will find another brand of eyeshadow primer."
My friend uses a Clinique one and likes it. I'll switch brands if I have to!!
25well i have to admit to you all that i have tried the Bare Escentuals Primetime Eyelid Primer (I had a sample) and I really, really, really liked it. I am pretty sure that when my remnants of UDPP runs out I will be getting that. I also looked at the ingredients of the BE primer and I did not see Talc as an igredient.
26Really Aud? I was just looking at the BE one too and I was not
27sure how it worked.
yeah. the only thing with it is i have not used the full size and not sure of its packaging. it could also leave lots you can't get to. i know you have to turn the bottom and the product comes up through the top through an applicator.
28Yeah, I was looking at it when I was in Sephora and I just wasn't too
29sure about how it comes out of there, cause if you get too much then it
seems like you are stuck with it and it gets wasted.
wow. i don't think daisie said anything bad....maybe i didn't read her comment the same way others did or maybe she posted something else that was deleted? aaaaaanyway, i don't use this product but i commented anyway. be sure to update us with your progress and let us know if we should do anything else. way to go getting something started!!! i can't wait to see what happens...i really hope they do something about this.
30Kudos to you, Whip, for taking the initiative to do this.
I don't think Daisie was suggesting that the petition was put on the blog just to create traffic. I do think she had some good ideas if people really want UD to change the packaging.
31I agree with Audrey's comment. I would rather cut it then for them to keep the cost the same and lower the amount that is in the container.
32I wasn't "insisting" that they were trying to drive up traffic; I was suggesting because it is IS a byproduct. Why? Because I'm a beauty blog nut and have not heard of that site. I am offended that several of you are being snarky with me for what is not only my fair opinion but a valid point as well; why post here if your blog has all the traffic. It's a fair assumption that posting on Sugar and wherever else about this issue WILL drive traffic to the site. I know it's not the reason for the petition as the UDPP packaging is wasteful but you cannot deny the increase of traffic that will come. This is what bloggers do and that does not bother me. What does is that there is no mention on the blog of the first person (that we know) to discover this and cut open the packaging. Every other single blog or video that I've seen on the subject mentions her, including Bella who at least linked to her. So as minor as this issue is, the lack of mentioning her on your blog smacks of you "taking credit". I am not trying to be mean or "harsh", I am stating what I have read and what assumptions it leads one to.
Additionally, I DO in fact think that using a site like petitiononline.com would be a more effective way to get signatures. I assume there are other sites like it, but I only know of that one. I have not set up a petition myself, though I have signed them and you can see the petition count, the "mission statement", etc, in a neat orderly fashion that I would assume is easier to print out. (Whether you like my comments or not, I will still suggest that you print out your petition and mail it in as snail mail gets more attention. A box of signatures is more powerful than a pdf file of them or a link. Additionally, a movement to get people to send their cut up UDPP bottles to one person and then to have that person send in the bottles in a huge box would also be great. You can use a site like fundable.org to get the money for the large postage amount.) Again, I am not insisting that the blog owners do not already know this, I am just trying to give info in case they didn't. (This post says they will email the link and I wholeheartedly think it should be followed up by snail mail as email can be overlooked easier.) So whether you move the petition or not, it's still a great idea and I hope it works.
Furthermore, you are missing the point. For those who use UDPP it's a great petition. But I honestly think that contacting YouTube makeup gurus and other beauty bloggers to get the word out would help the cause.
As for them making a statement about the packaging, they have sent form letters to those who have requested a change. So they know. They knew when they made the product and thought we wouldn't figure it out. We did and all they do is send form letters. check it out:http://girl-decorated.livejournal.com/17441.html. As I said, connecting with all of these people on all the different communties is important.
