My very good pal pinkangelmonkey...or as her goof (yes goof) friends like to call her, Squeaky, has asked for my assistance in her entrance to the make-up world.

First off, let me just tell you how flattered/embarassed/smiley/honored I was when I read her blog and what everyone had to say Shocked Embarassed Laughing out loud
So I really hope I do not disappoint with this, as I am no expert and am only going by my experiences and opinions on this Smiling

I'm starting in the drug-store since I don't know how far her budget stretches, and it's always fun to start out playing with cheaper makeup and getting into the swing of things before shelling out the big bucks.

Any and all suggestions are welcome as I haven't tried all products and there could be something perfect for Squeaky out there that I don't know about Smiling

Our gorgeous subject:

As you can see, Squeaky has GORGEOUS blue eyes and great skin!! Oh those freckles!! From what I can tell in the pics I have seen of her, Squeaky most def has pinker undertones, meaning a pink pink blush and pink pink lipgloss would not do her complexion any favors. I know this as I have the same complexion. But anyways, let's start with a foundation.

Now she wants something that will even out her complexion but not hide her super cute freckles!! Here are some suggestions for you my dear:

Covergirl Trublend Whipped Foundation
This is the foundation I was using before I switched over to MAC. It really is a great foundation for the price, as it evened out my skin tone yet was very sheer and light. You don't really feel like there's anything on your face! I would go with a neutral tone on your skin Squeaky...creamy natural maybe?

To make sure there was no shine and to help settle the foundation, I'd always dust on a little of the Covergirl Trublend Pressed Powder.

I've heard good things about Max Factor's Silk Perfection Liquid to Powder Foundation. I've never used this product myself, but from what I hear, it embodies exactly what you specified you wanted in a foundation Smiling

On to the eyeshadow...oh the fun I would have making up your eyes!!!

L'Oreal HIP Shocking Shadow Pigments in Restless 918 would be a perfect shade on you!! Golds would look great on you and really make your peepers pop!!

Same with this L'Oreal HIP Bright Shadow Duo in Flamboyant 538, purples look great with light blue eyes, and adding gold accents to the color would just make your eyes the hottest thing on the block!!

Oh I want to buy one of these trios!! The Rimmel Three Sum Eyeshadow in Platonic would make a great subtle smokey eye on you, or just use the shades individually Laughing out loud The Naughty Trio would be fun to play with. Use the lilac color on your inner corners and blend out to the green on the outter 1/3 of the eye. Then use a wet liner brush to line upper lids with the dark blue color!!

Also, these Maybelline Expert Wear Eye Shadow Quads in Sunlit Bronze and Mocha Motion would look great, and they even have instructions as to where each shade should be placed on the eye Laughing out loud

I could go on and on with eyeshadows...but I will refrain for now! Just know that any gold or bronze shades are going to look great on you. Same with purple, just make sure it is a purple with cool (blue) undertones and not pinkish ones.

On to the eyeliner! There was only one eyeliner I was using from the drugstore before I was converted to Benefit's liners...

..and that was Maybelline's Eye Stylist Liner. Now I absolutely loved this product when I had it, worked like a charm. But I have heard mixed reviews on it from other popples, so this could be a toss up. But if I were you, I would purchase a Onyx, Espresso, and Plum Shimmer ones!

Time for mascara, here are a couple tried and true ones that seem to be loved by many here on sugar:

How many great reviews have we gotten on the Covergirl Lash Exact Mascara? A ton!! So this mascara comes highly recommended!

This is my favorite drug-store mascara of all time, Max Factor's 2000 Calorie Mascara. This stuff is amazing!! Makes lashes seem longer, thicker, and holds the curl!! AWESOME for the price!!

Blush blush blush!! We want a peach blush!

If you are worried about using blush and just want something to give you a sheer wash of color, Covergirl Trublend Blush with Minerals in Shimmering Sands would be perfect on you. I own this and still occasionally use it when I just want a nice hint of color!

If you want to have more room to play around with defining your cheeks, then this Physicians Formula Magic Mosaic Multi-Colored Custom Blush in Nude/Warm Nude would be the ticket! Use the lighter shades for highlighting the top of the cheek bones, the middle shades for the apples, and the darker shades for defining underneath. Or just swirl your brush all throughout the colors to create the shade that's just right for you!

Last but not least, the lipglosses. Like mentioned earlier, we want to stick with more peachy tones:

Again, I think I need to get myself one of these as well! The middle peachy shade in this Rimmel Gloss Over Lip Gloss in Urban Queen would complement your skin tone so well!

Is there anything I didn't cover that you want covered? More of something? Less of something? Let me know Squeaky Pants, as later on this week I'll be hunting on Sephora for you Laughing out loud
