According to The Muse the Sephora Friends and Family Discount could possibly not happen this year.
She checked and called and heard that they won't be opening the Friends and Family discount out to the public this year. SA's in store will receive separate codes that they can use one time each. I asked the reps if that meant if I could ask a SA for a code and she said most likely not as the reps would be using those codes for their own friends and family and not giving them out to the general public.
I thought I'd give you guys a heads up on the rumour. What do you think about this? If it's true, will you find another store with a great holiday discount? Or will you still bulk buy at Sephora? It could be that Sephora is just throwing this out there to get more of a buzz, if that's true, what would you think about that?

I read this yesterday on the Muse's blog, so I went ahead and ordered an LE item I had been lemming for what seemed like ages (I was worried it would sell out before the FF discount would be offered anyways). However, if there is no discount, I will not be placing a really big order with Sephora. If I buy some of those items on my 'to buy list', I'll be shopping around online to see if other sites have any discounts or promotions, and I'll be very disappointed with Sephora (and disappointed in general), to say the least. If Sephora is trying to spread rumors to get more attention, it will certainly make me feel less positive about Sephora.
1I wonder... it would seem silly on Sephora's part that this year with all the talk of less holiday spending on the horizon they decide not to offer a F&F discount. The sales assistants at Sephora in the past have not always been in the know or very helpful when it comes to the F&F discount so I'll wait to see what's up. Not that I'm planning a huge order anyway, as I'm pretty well set for awhile and the things I do need they don't sell anyway!
2If this is true, it really surprises me, and is probably a bad move on Sephora's part. With the economy so bad right now, people are buying things they really need, and let's face it, folks, no one "needs" to spend $25 on a blush. Doing a F&F will give people that have been wanting to place a big order incentive to do so.
I've also been reading that holiday spending is supposed to be way way down, and so retails are supposed to be offering huge sales this shopping season. I did post a code yesterday that I found elsewhere online, not sure if it's legit, but you have nothing to lose by trying it if you're going to place an order.
3I just saw a post from the Muse - she contacted Sephora again and got confirmation that there *will* be a ff discount this year, starting Nov 6th (till the 10th). Yah!!! Code: FF2008. All is right with the world again!
4Well, thank goodness! That would have been a horrible move on their part. Other companies would have jumped on this opportunity and offered even better deals. Sephora is quite the unique beauty store but others are catching on quickly- Ulta and even beauty.com are expanding their selections of premium brands this year. I actually have shopped at other places and brand's web sites more than Sephora this year. Well, this is good news and I'll be using this code. Thanks ladies for the thorough research and follow-up
5I am new to the Sephora Discount!! Where has this been all my life?? How much is the discount?? Please say 90%
6I am also new to the Sephora FF discount and would also like to know how much the discount is. Also, is that a code for use online at sephora.com? Thanks
7The discount is 20%
