Product Review - Mac Eyeshadow in "Club"
My boyfriend's sister-in-law showed me her Mac eyeshadow in "Club" over the summer but I didn't have a chance to pick it up until yesterday.
Oh my God, you guys, this is the coolest color.
The swatch on the Mac site doesn't do it justice. It looks like this:

That photo makes it look like a simple charcoal color, when that's not even close. It's really a greyish-brown with iridescent blue/green tones.
That's kind of more accurate...
My camera is broken, so I couldn't take a photo of the actual color ON me, but I found this photo on Flickr. THIS IS NOT ME, though.

Look how cool that color is! And it looks awesome on whomever this chick is (who, by the way, has much better eyeshadow skillz than I do).
I love it! I also bought the eyeshadow in Shroom, which is a simple beige, good for highlighting.
UPDATE: I was able to get some crappy photos with my crappy camera.
I never realized how crepe-papery my lids look with iridescent shadow. 
Anyone have any tips on how to avoid that?
Also, I am obviously not a professional, so please ignore my amateur application. This is ALL Club on my eyes, for sake of accuracy - nothing on my brow bone on crease. And as liner, I just wet a liner brush and used more Club.

shades and textures!!! Now I feel like I have to check out this color in person too!! And yes, the girl has some very pro make up skills!
I have Shroom and use it all the time. This color is freaking fab though. WANT.
I think Mac needs to hire me to color correct their images. I probably would have never tried that color when shopping online because it's such a basic gray in the photo. But the real color as shown in the photo is amazing!!!

but, upon looking at thepicture closely, i think the girl used a few other colors to blend the main color..i really got to check out the actual product!! can't wait to get to a MAC counter pronto.
Yeah, the upper lid and crease is a different color, but the color closer to her lashes is what it looks like on me.
Wow! That's gorgeous! Though I could only possibly hope to pull this off at night and on very special occasions, I am definitely going to check it out. I love that touch of brownish hint to it, combined with all the other bits.
I'm pretty sure I'm getting a sweet new camera for Christmas, so I'll post pics afterwards.
I think I have this stuff! I find it wears off fast though...
Ashcwebb - do you use a primer? UD's Primer Potion keeps stuff on my lids all day long - no creasing and no issues.
I second that Motolinz, and I have only used it for the last 2 days! I am a believer in the Potion!

Wow, that girl's flickr page is just full of eye make up colors... and the application is fantastic! I am looking thru them now for some make up ideas.. Hah ha..
the color is gorgeous! thanks for posting the updated pictures... i just bought my Club too. tested the color, it actually doesnt look very appealing in the case, until i tried on my hand, and the color is so rich, brown, grey and black all at once. it's a color that i can see myself using all the time, as opposed to previous MAC black tones, like beauty marked etc.
wow amazing! i really want to try doing that. if only i had all those MAC eyeshadows.
In your pics, the color kind of looks like L'Oreal H.I.P.'s Intrepid.

When I wear iridescent shadow I put a bit of moisturizing on my lids before my UD and it seems to look smoother.

I can't wait to experiment with different color liner now. Since the shadow is so chameleon-like in appearance, it would probably look cool with black, dark brown, dark green, navy, OR gunmetal liners.
I think a metallic green or black liner would go really well!

I suppose I was blessed with naturally long, thick lashes. I didn't curl them before taking the photo, and I just put on one coat of Cover Girl Lash Exact.
I guess my lashes are nature's way of making up for my cellulite, love handles, and unmanageable brows.
Gosh - I really love this color, and I'm so tempted to buy it, but I know that I would use it so, so rarely, and I am not even convinced I could remotely pull it off.
Whip - did you find that it's one of those shadows you can put on as light or heavy as you want, or was it pretty potent with the first swipe?
No, it was definitely the kind that will look pretty light if you apply it lightly. I put it on fairly heavy in these photos so that y'all could see the full effect.

I'm sure those colors would look fierce with the shadow. If I thought I'd get it by Christmas I'd order it today.

The color swatches on MAC's website are horrible...they NEVER look like how the color really looks.
Totally agree about MAC's color swatches. They'd be better off NOT including pictures at all, and just putting color descriptions. Or just reshoot the dang colors, peeps!!
that's why i cannot buy make up online. i have to try out the colors, textures, etc in person.
Oh, Jen - I realized that I actually OWN L'oreal HIP Intrepid. The color is kind of similar, but the MAC only looks like the Intrepid in a certain light.
When I get back home from the sticks (to a high-speed internet connection) I'll post a side by side comparison.
Ok, good! Because I have Intrepid, too and I was hoping Club was a little more complex... I hope it gets here before our big New Years Eve blowout!! :giddy:
