So i have had broken capellaries around my nose since i was a teenager. and now that im adult who drinks and smokes too much, they are getting worse. the facialist called them distended, i call them ugly. i have heard of laser surgery to get rid of them but since i will not be giving up my current lifestyle for awhile, i dont want to spend an exorbitant amount of money to treat them. do you guys have any suggestions?

Has the doctor said anything about hydrocortisone to reduce swelling/color-but I don't think you can use that for a long amount of time? Maybe try a cream typically for your eyes to depuff- may the distension can go down some. Then, find a concealer in a green tone (I think it's green) to eliminate the reddness. Talk to a dermatologist. At least drink a lot of water to help cleanse and purify as much as possible. IMO- STOP SMOKING-IMO. Good luck!
1Apply your concealer with a brush so you can get it around the edge of your nose and really pack it in there.
2I have broken capillaries from sun damage as well and it's a sore spot for me. I use the Stila concealer, applying it lightly with a concealer brush then follow up with BE Multi Tasker and foundation, I have been very happy with the results.
3Regarding long term, I think at this point we're stuck with them unless we go the laser surgery route.
My uncle has that problem, he is a heavy smoker too. I don't know much about smoking and broken capillaries but it makes sense, the lack of oxygen maybe? There may be some information on that website theveinclinic.com I think that's what it is called. It talks about spider veins and all kinds of stuff too. Maybe a microdermabrasion or a chemical peel may help. idk....hope this helps a little.
4just to clarify, im not a heavy smoker just a social smoker, its just that i have been more social than usual lately. so dont go out and buy me an iron lung. i tried the concealer using a brush and the coverage was great. i seriously think i am going to go back to my stila concealer, the stuff im using is too thick to try to dab around my nose. i am also going to try the hydrocortisone thing because i think that may helpe with the swelling, i have always wanted to try microdermabrasion and its not too too expensive so that is an option. ho hum, i know in twenty years im going to have to just suck it up and get the damn laser surgery. thanks so much guys!
5wouldnt it be good if we could hop a flight to anywhere,so long to this life, so much fun pretending, cause bad luck's never endin
iron lung
let's hope you never have one of those!!
6Here is a site about microdermabrasion..

Yeah-this may sound gross but don't hemorrhoid creams use hydrocortisone to reduce swelling because of distended veins? Sorry- who wants to talk about that, but I always remember reading ages ago models and beauty pageant contestants would use something like preparation H for under eye bags and veins. Good luck- glad you don't think you'll be needing that iron lung
