I saw this question posed on http://www.temptalia.com/ and adapted it into a poll.
Personally, nobody has ever told me that I wear too much make up, but at my workplace, hardly anyone puts on any decent make up. The most the others use is foundation and some lipstick, that's all.
On days when I just go to work with only a clear face, some co-workers do ask "Oh you are not wearing make up today?" (Like duh....)

Evans
I think I voted wrong
And that picture is downright scary
1Yes, but it was a coworker who wore NO makeup (and it could have done her some good AND we are actually supposed to wear makeup at all times for work) so I kind of dismissed it.
Lol @ JennaV's comment about your coworker.
2Only person who's ever said that is my husband. But that's mostly cause he digs me in sweats.
3Nobody has ever told me that.

4No one's ever said that to me.
5Someone once told me my bronzer was too dark and orangey for my skin tone, which I appreciated. I threw it away that day!
6My mom's house seems to have poor lighting, so whenever I'm there and I leave the house I have to check my face in the car mirror to wipe off the drag queen-ness that I've accidentally applied.
Haa Haa, no I have definintely have never been told that.
7That picture is incredible.
No, I've never been told this before. I tend to go pretty light with my makeup.
8Nope.
9Nope. If anything I would be told that I don't wear enough!
10Yes, my hubby back in the day, when we first started dating, now a days I don't wear so much so I haven't heard him say anything regarding too much makeup in 13 yrs.
*Thank you. My real name... is plain... Jane Jones. (Alice - Closer)
11I've never been told that I wear to much, thankfully. If anything, I don't wear enough, because I never think that I am applying it properly. And yes, that picture is scary!
12No, I always make me up, but I do it discretly. According to one girl of my class I NEVER wear make up, what is absolutely wrong.
13Yes, my husband's cousin's little girl. Who grew up in a very strict household where nobody wore makeup.
14Not that I can remember!
15Maybe something similiar to Wren where my mom or sis would have said I'd gone a little heavy on the bronzer, but other then that I don't think so!
when i was in college there was a girl that was constantly telling me and a friend that we wore to much makes up and asking if we were insecure. finally at a graduation party i saw her and she was all made up and looked so cute. then she said she was over her granola girl days and that her ex bf had been very against makeup.
now days people notice when i wear any, although i'm trying to make more of an effort. i just like how my skin feels w/o makeup and i don't work so there you go.
16No. I always check myself on the mirror in daylight before leaving the house.

Livin' la vida loca!
No, but I'm sure there have been times... I can certainly think of a photo of myself where I had done up my mouth eyes and cheeks instead of focusing on one or two features.
18Never, I hardly wear make-up and I am just trying to apply mascara everyday. I have to work my way up.
19no never
20ROTFLMAO - No, I am an eyeliner and lip gloss girl. This girl needs to be shot.
21Not usually - but my friend/boy James always hates on my makeup. He must tell me "You wear too much makeup" at least three times a day, even when I'M NOT WEARING ANY. Also, I quite often ask him whether I'm wearing makeup, and he's only gotten it right two or three times. Out of, like, a hundred. So it's more that he's anti-makeup than that I wear too much, because he can't actually tell the difference.
22And I would probably kill myself if I looked like that photo.
23Just so you know, that's me in the picture. Your comments are really hurtful, I look hot!
24Only my mom-when I was like 16.
xooo
25Um, Scully, you look stunned.. I mean, stunning. When you get off work tonight, and after you count up your tips in your thong, give me a call and I'll go to the Dollar Store with you to get some more Electric Blue eyeshadow.
26Hvanness331 - I will for sure. Also, remind me to pick up some bleach for my ends, they need a touch up. Call ya later....
27I have not been told that my makeup has been too much; I'm more of a critic of myself about that. I do use makeup more for fun than everyday use, so sometimes I do a very dramatic eye... but not at the same time as a lot of lipstick, unless I'm going for an interesting look. But no, nobody would probably ever tell me. I think people are just shocked that I actually do wear makeup
28My dad but that doesn't count because even when I wear only lipgloss and bronzer, he would tell me I wear too much make up! >:(
29Not as a part of my real life!
However, I do occasionally have to wear stage makeup. But since it's so obviously for "on stage" no one has ever commented on it.
Now my DH, OTOH, is of the opinion that any makeup is too much. Love him, mean it, but HELLO! This is such a guy thing!!!
30One time when I was 16 and didn't wear make up period but decided one day I wanted to wear eye liner, you know how you line the inside of your bottom part of your eye...my mom goes, 'um lookin' a little hookerish there!' It was so subtle it was just crazy but my mom was so use to seeing me with nothing on
other than that, no.
31I don't think anyone has ever told me that, but I saw the facial expression of this friend I used to have as I was putting on some dark lipstick and it was sort of disgust! I was in shock and she really did not have to say much. Nowadays, I am my own best judge and I try and ask several people if they think I am wearing too much make-up. When I described to my sister my whole entire make-up routine she was shocked: she didn't really think I wore that much AT ALL. I guess I have a way of still making it seem subdued.
32No never...
33yea i have been told i wear too much make-up...well not really.
34it was more like...i was talking to one of my girlfriends (who never does anything to herself) an di was like you should try like some powder or something and maybe a little eyeliner and she was like... yea well your make up always looks good maybe ill let you do it. so i did it and she said i put too much on her.... i dont really know if that means i wear a lot or she just wasnt used to the feeling.

My mom used to say that when I was in high school. All. the. time. Then, I went on to a hippie college and wore very little makeup for years. So, then it became "aren't you going to put some makeup on?"
35im very conscious of my scars, im more comfortable wearing too much make up than not enough. Ive been told not to wear so much, that i have nice skin, but thats just the make up doing its job. id love to leave the house without make up
36I've been told that I wear too much lipstick and lip gloss..lol
