Last month, when I was getting a trim, my salon was trying out a new treatment on another client. It's called Frizz Cure.
Basically, it's a brand new treatment that is supposed to reduce frizz and volume in the hair, but retain the curl. I need this SO FREAKIN' BAD!!
I used to get the Japanese straightening done on my hair, which took about nine hours, was VERY expensive, and left my hair flat and lifeless (although, I'll admit, stick straight and frizz-free).
Frizz Cure, aka the Hydroxyl Reshaping System, leaves the body and shape in the hair. I told my mother about the new treatment and she immediately called her friend, who is a hairdresser. He told her that if she and I paid for our own chemicals (approx. $20 for each of us) he'd do the treatment for free at her house.
The only thing is, he said that nobody he's done the treatment on has come back to let him see it, so he's not sure how successful it is. Granted, nobody's come back to complain, either.
The treatment is made by Fabune and you can see some informational videos about the product here and here.
The website and videos are pretty ghetto, which makes me worry about the product.
Has anyone out there gotten this done, or does anyone know anyone who has gotten this done? I'm very, very curious!

Tommy Hilfiger
Never heard of it, I just wanted to say that chick looks scary with her crazy eyes.
1Id be interested in trying this, since I battle mild frizz. But I dont even have curly hair.
Sorry, I cant be of help!
2HAHAHHA, true Sticky!
3I never believe photos like this. I mean, all you have to do is go over her hair with a flat iron to make it straight and smooth. I want to witness something firsthand.
4Hmm. I'm curious about this! I haven't heard about it either.
5Hey wait...is that Jaslene from ANTM? Oh. No, it's not.
You should get your mom to do the treatment FIRST, then if it's a total disaster, you still have all your hair and she can be a bald cougar.
God, I slay me.

I have tried alot of different things on my hair, trying to work with my natural texture, and
not that you would want to be bald - but hey it grows back...eventually...
11Well, 20 bucks is certainly a reasonable price. But I'd really want more to go on that a sketchy website. There doesn't seem to be much info about it online, but I did find one person who said she'd been doing it every six months since 10/05 and recommends it to anyone. So that's a good sign. If you trust this hairdresser (surely he wouldn't put something he was completely unsure about on your hair?), I'd say go for it. You could always get extension tips from Britney if you go bald.
12never heard of this or tried it.
13I would definitely be interested in trying this. I used to get Japanese straightening done but I stopped because it really damaged my hair.
14If it works let a curly girl know! I've never heard of it and am curious to know how much an in-salon treatment would cost. Now, I pride myself in keeping my hair natural, but sometimes in Miami humidity, something's gotta give!
15They (Fabune) spelled locator incorrectly. O_o That in itself should speak of the quality of their products...
16So, I have been having this treatment for two years now and it has changed my life. I brought my niece who has waist-length naturally curly hair and who, up until this treatment, spent nearly 4 hours to blow dry her hair straight. Now it takes her 30 minutes - has had the effect of putting braces on her teeth.
For me - it makes my hair gorgeous and I can wear sytles I could never dream of before. I live in a dry climate, but I can go to NYC or Charlotte to work on projects and my hair stays looking great. i get my roots touched up every 6 months. You have to be a little careful with highlights as this is like a perm solution and you can overprocess your hair. My stylist paints on the stuff they put in the kit that stops processing, immediately, on the blonde highlights in the very front of my hair that is very prone to breaking.
Getting it for $20? Go for it! To get this done in a salon is more that $100 but not as much as the Japanese system. You will still have fullness and bend in your hair. I will never live without this product, that is unless those 80's perms become the rage again!
17Huong Star:
they musta updated it, cuz i just visited their website and it was spelled correctly.
