I agree with the blending. I would also bring the blue up a bit more or do more of the lid purple so that the blue is highlighting the purple.

I think it looks good not blended. It has a sharper, linear look to it... if that makes sense. I agree, it's a great party look. I love this time of year, especially with New Year's, when you can go all out and try fun makeup like this.
