Each spring I make an order to Avon to get my kid's sublock/bugspray (which is fantastic, I blogged about it in my group here http://teamsugar.com/group/186693/blog/1728887 ) But I never order anything else. Probably because the last time I ordered cosmetics from Avon was about 11 years ago. I ordered a couple of lipsticks from a woman who worked in my office. When they came, the shades were kind of orange-gy and I threw them out. I realize all these years later I should probably give them another shot and try a few new things. I was looking at their website and am intrigued by these ergonomic makeup brushes
avon brush Has anyone tried them? It looks like the handle would feel nice in your hand. So does anyone have any favorites from Avon or Mark that you suggest I pick up?

There stuff doesn't seem too bad actually. A while ago I placed an order for:
-GLAZEWEAR Liquid Lip Color ,Blushing (pinky-brown). I got it for only $1.99. It is a little thick for a gloss but I like the color.
-ANEW CLINICAL Advanced Retexturizing Peel $25.00- I had read great reviews about these peel pads on MUA and gave them a try. I am not consistent and use other products as well meant to 'peel', but my skin feels soft after I use this. I can tell its removed some dry skin. I believe these were also awarded an Allure award or a CEW award. Not a bad price and easy to use.
Not sure about most of their makeup, but they've put a lot into their skin care products lately. They've gotten great reviews and the price is good. There are a couple of scrubs and eye creams I'd like to try next
1I've tried that brush and I love the shape, but the bristles keep falling out!
Their chapsticks are the best. The one with aloe is fabulous.
2i like some of the Mark stuff. It's fun, young and cheap but not cheapy. lol
3avon's skincare stuff is good as well as their line of pedicure stuff. i have the overnight renewing foot cream and it is wonderful! only $3.99 . ...
their makeup i'm not too sure about although lately its being renewed. my sister has the brushes, she hasnt had a complaint yet.
That's true. The Foot Works stuff is pretty good too.
4I loved the Clinical Anew and the footworks stuff. They also had a great handcream that I used all the time. It was thick but dried really well and kept my hands super soft. Of course, the name escapes me, lol.
5ooh- the foot cream sounds nice. So cheap, too. I get emails from them all the time and tempted to try more stuff out because they are not that expensive and I feel they have built a good reputation and don't sell total crap.
6ALSW - that stinks about the bristles! The whole line of those ergo brushes looks so cool, but I cannot stand brushes that shed.
7I can't either. I haven't had that problem with the Mark brushes (which I LOVE!) and I haven't had it with the eyeshadow brushes either. Just the big face brush like in your picture up there. But for the last two days while putting on makeup I had to peel bristles off my face!
8I use the Avon Anew eye and day cream. I really like them both. I really like the Mark lip glosses. They taste fruity and stay on.
9I've been hearing tons about Avon lately... I need to look at their site (it's been so long!) and see if anything strikes my fancy!
10I feel they're getting much better.
11Yeah... just took a look at their site, and I think I might try out the ANEW ALTERNATIVE Intensive Eye Cream. I use Aveda right now, but have noticed it's not working as well as it used to. I get 8 hours of sleep pretty much every night, but my dark circle are hereditary. Boo!
12funny you ask, I am putting orders every month, searching for new thing, a friend of mine is a distributor and this is a good excuse to see each other
the glosses are really good, I am using a pink one with chocolate smell… really good stuff! It stays a lot and it's not sticky.
I tried the mineral shadows and a brush for it, I really like both!, the shadow last and seems so pretty.

Wow, some great suggestions! Thanks
14i absolutely looooooooooove avon's dew kiss. i order 15 when it's on sale.
15Avon's dew kiss is a pink lip balm??? because I order some but when I open it I left it naked and now I don't know what's the name.
But is pink and when I put it on my lips they look so pretty, for only a lip balm!
I'm crazy, I order something of avon every month, almost.

I like their make up. I usually order lipsticks from there.
17Avon's makeup is pretty good - not the best, but I usually buy lipsticks and things for my makeup get-togethers with my friends, because they're nice and not as expensive as high-end brands. Their brushes, however, are singularly awful. Yes, they're synthetic (or at least, the ones I've owned have been), but they're literally just plastic and shed like crazy. If you want nice, but affordable, brushes, I recommend the Essence of Beauty brushes they sell at CVS.
18I love avon and mark products. My sister sells it and since I help her out I get a major discount. I REALLY love the mark books though. Nice cute fashions and hand bags.
19I use Avon's ANEW Retroactive+ night cream, I love it. I just ordered another one yesterday. I also really like their strawberry chapstick. Oh and how could I almost forget, I absolutley love their thermal exfoliating cleanser, it's kept my skin so clear since using it. I've recently tried Mark's For Goodness Face SPF30 & their Thats Deep cleanser, and I really like both. Oh, and you should check out their silicone glove hand cream, it's really good at keeping your hands moisturized if you wash 'em a lot during the day. As far as makeup, i'd try Jillian Dempsey's line, I just ordered her new eyeshadow trio so hopefully i'll like it.
20I ordered the ergonomic eyeshadow brush and some mini mascaras in fun colours. Really excited to try these out!
21I use the mark cream blush sticks - don't remember the name but they're both GREAT. The colors look dark on the stick, but they apply very sheer and pretty.
I also dig their chubby eye pencils, the one with cashmere in the name has a gorgeous pink color that's perfect for brightening the inner corners of my eye without being too bright white teeny bopper-y
22Ditto on the chubby feye pencils, those are what I really like.

24I havent used it in ages. mom used to buy it from a neighbor because she felt bad and wanted to help her business..therefore I always got a lot of creams, makeup, foot stuff, nail polish, etc.
25both brands always seemed a little "halfway" to me.
Like halfway working the way I want it to, but then again---I could just go to the store and get something that I really want.
The quality was never what I wanted on the makeup and the colors were always just a bit "off"
Or else, I'd get something I would never use....foot creams, eye creams, nail polishes...blahblah...all stuff that seems like it could be a good idea---but I can't really use at the moment and it just builds up into clutter in my bathroom.
just got this in an email today:
26Free shipping on orders of $15 until 7/3/08 with code AVNFS15
sofi, you're the best! I"m gonna use it!
27Although I haven't had anything new lately, I have used a bit of Avon, such as the lip balms and such.

i love avon makeup. i probably have at least one of each kind f product they advertise. ive never broken out thank god, and its really good quality stuff.
29Nail polishes are my fav, although I do use lip balms and lipsticks, some of the new shimmer/mineral makeup is good.
