How To Get Rid of Dry Hair:

The worse thing about dry hair is most probably the look of it. Who likes the look of straw hair anyways? Dry hair can come from over styling, over washing, over coloring…and simply from the wind and the sun, especially in summer. The best way to get rid of dry hair? One word: moisture. Go crazy over products that contain that word! Here’s our tried and testes beauty secrets that we get up to!

First and foremost, get your hair care products right. All you need is a good shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner.

For a shampoo, try DOVE’s Intense Moisture Shampoo. Washing your hair everyday dries it out, so instead, wash it every other day. If your hair looks greasy after a day of not washing it, add talcum powder to your hair to soak up the oil. Did you know that your hair benefits from it’s own natural oil? If you’re game, let it grease a little - it’s good for your hair!

After washing your hair, apply a hair treatment and leave it on for at least 5 minutes to let it work. We love PANTENE Pro V Deep Fortifying Treatment, which really does restore hair’s moisture. What we do is we leave it in our hair, put on a cap, and blow dry the outside of the cap. The heat makes the conditioner even more moist, and your hair gets more treatment. We blow dry it for 15 minutes, then leave it on for another fifteen. Afterward, we rinse all the product out with freezing cold water, for extra shine.

Once that’s all done, try a leave-in conditioner.

We did this for a whole week and a half, and our hair felt completely brand new! Try it yourself and tell us what you think!

Other tips for dry hair:

If you’re styling your hair, make sure you use the lowest heat and keep that blow dryer at least 6 inches away from your hair! If not, dry your hair in the safest way - let it air dry by itself!
When styling your hair though, look for products that contain humectant, which adds moisture to your hair.
When styling, use an alcohol free styling spray.
Get a hair brush with a natural bristle. This reduces fly away hair, which is caused by dryness.
When you’re out in the hot sun, wear a hat.
Cut down on styling your hair once in a while - give your hair a break!
There we have it, tried and tested - this “regime” we use works, and the other tips have worked for countless other women. The quickest way to get rid of dry hair? Get a trim, it’ll do wonders to the overall look to your hair!
