I have 3 tiny little blackheads on the inside crease of each of my nostrils. You have to look really closely to see them, but they are there. Why such a small nearly invisible blemish would bother me so much is something that I can't explain. But it drives me crazy. I want them gone. I have been blessed with a clear complection, and this does not make me happy.
If you have read my previous posts on this subject, you know that the Biore pore strips bruised my face. And they didn't even work.
I've been exfoliating and using my clay mask to no avail. And so I have been on a search for a way to get rid of these pesky little buggers.
Today I happened to be around Bryant Park and lo and behold the holiday craft fair is open there! This has been a very exciting week for me so far, between the Grand Central fair and this one. I didn't get to see the entire fair, though I did buy some amazing shirts and a great dress (but thats for another blog), I happened upon the Onurth booth. Ok, maybe I didn't happen, the person I bought the shirts from told me to go there. But I was going to go anyway. Whatever, its not important.
The creator of this body care line used to be a facialist at the Plaza. She has extremely sensitive skin (yay! I am not alone!) and has had some really annoying experience with products. So she made her own product line. She looked at my blackheads, and quickly explained the problem. Apparantely, my face is too dry. I was shocked, being that I am a very diligent moisturizer. But in my quest to get rid of the blackheads, I had been exfoliating a little bit too often. This has been keeping my pores so tight that they cant excrete (I know, queasy word) the oils that they need to. Leading to tiny blackheads that won't go away.
She recommended I use her Mature Face Serum - which although I am 26 and by no means have mature skin, will be preventitive of aging (another obsession of mine) and ultra moisturizing. Im supposed to use 3 drops a night on my face. And I am supposed to stop overcleaning.
After a few days of using the serum, I am supposed to mix the Green French Clay with some of my Rose Water - she sells her own, but said my Duchess Marden is good (thank goodness!!!! I couldn't give that product up) and apply it to my nose.
Between the softening and extra moisture my skin will have, the mask should extract the blackheads.
I am also going to experiment, and after using it her way, see what happens if I steam my face with Dr. Hauschka Steam Facial Bath before using the mask. But that will be for another time.
Wish me luck! Ill let you know how it goes!

It seems like you're lucky to only have a few of these blackheads. I have been plagued by acne since puberty, doesn't seem to get much better over time. Anyway, stop your whining woman!!! And be happy w/ the beautiful skin you were blessed with! You can just squeeze those things out too!
1Great post! I wonder if I'm over cleaning my skin, too. Keep us updated on your quest to remove your blackheads!
2I hope this does work for you and you didn't buy something you ay not need. good luck!
3thanks for all the support! i know that it may seem really whiny and shallow to complain about a few blackheads, i mean there are so many other issues in life to deal with - and a few blackheads that only i see is hardly the worst thing in the world. if only it were my biggest problem! but its something that i can fix, and it distracts me from the problems that i can't fix. and there is such a sense of accomplishment when you get rid of even the most minute annoyance.
4That's true! I totally agree with you, distractions are some of the best things in life!
5have you tried steaming your face and putting a hot towel over it before extractions? or a facial? that would get rid of them pronto.
6thanks jasi! i've steamed my face, but i cant seem to squeeze them out because of where they are on my nose, which is why im trying the mask. already with the serum ive noticed that some of them have gone away (who would have thought that EXTRA moisture would do that?!?!) and on sunday im going to use the mask for the first time....of course ill report back on my results..
7oh goodness... I am the same way... i need heeeeelp too!!! I pick at my face so much becuase of it. Can't wait for your results!
8I had a really bad experience with Onurth Organic Skin Products. Basically, I tried to return a $150 product the monday after Christmas and they took a really hard line about not giving me a refund. They were really rude about it too. I can't speak to thier products (since mine were unopened), but the owners are not good people.
9Onurth is the worst. There are *much* better products out there for the price. I agree about their staff being unpleasant.
10I have this problem also, and thought there was no way to get rid of them. Ive tried proactive, and a neutrogena astringent. Has anyone used those strips that supposedly pull the black heads out, and do they work?
The rest of my skin is clear, and then I have these blackheads all over my nose. It doesnt make sense at all, and no makeup covers them up.
