Hey all,
First off, I'm a 35yr old male, and I personally don't know a whole lot about cosmetics :-|
How's that for a start? BUT, to my advantage, I live in very close proximity to two of may Aunts, and they've been nation-wide, top-selling salespeople for several cosmetic product lines including Borghese (ok, so I've used their mask and I like it) and Estee Lauder. Needless to say, I know first-hand how much painstaking consideration they put into choosing something that they put on their face everyday, foundation or otherwise. They have counters full of products.
Because of the duality of the job, selling it and teaching people how to use the product, they've always said that there are those that you can do amazing things with, typically with minimal makeup to enhance their features. And then there are those whose complexion you're challenged in trying to help cover up.
That being said, they're also quick to agree that a person's lifestyle has a huge impact on their skin tone and complexion. A good, healthy lifestyle typically results in healthier skin. Lots of abuse from the sun, heavy smoking and other detremental behaviors will typically result in unhelathy skin that ages very rapidly. So a good foundation for good skin is just that - a healthier lifestyle. A healthy diet, proper sunscreens (for very sunny climates), great supplements, etc., will give you glowing results.
My wife and I have experienced this just recently as we started on a plan with a regular (daily) dietary supplement. What we are using includes a large part of your essential nutrients, along with ingredients that promote cardiovascular health and it encourages cellular longevity. As we have epxerienced in the the last two months or so, it makes a great difference in your skin's appearance when your body is getting everything it needs. I'm 35 and it's not uncommon that I (still) have 4 or 5 pimples on my face at any given time. In the last two months of regular supplemental use, I can honestly say I have seen 2 or 3 over that entire time! So I would encourage you that if you're looking to improve your complexion and just give your overall health a general boost, get on a reagular plan of supplements and see what a difference it makes in putting a great foundation under your (product) foundation.
