I can finally say that I give up on liquid foundations. I've concluded that LF's are not beneficial to your skin at all, no matter what they claim. Especially for my super-oily skin, LF's will always slide off on me even if I use a primer and powder on top. Powder foundations, which are recommended for oily skin, aren't so great either for me. It makes me look I have...as my brother once said to me...a Cocaine Face. Sad

So, as some of you know, I've been looking for a great mineral foundation. I did TONS of researching for about a month-and-a-half now. I originally narrowed it down to Alima and Everyday Minerals. I'm pretty sure these are good for some people, but I heard that Alima's shades skip between one another. I tried my friend's Everyday Minerals that didn't work for her. It also didn't work for me. All the colors were just off, and the finish looked kinda funky on me. I found Meow a little while later, though I can't remember how. It was truly serendipitous. Smiling

A little on my skin. As I've mentioned, I have verrry oily skin. I definitely don't have flawless skin. I still have some hyperpigmentation, very few acne scars, and the occasional-but-mild breakout when I'm on the red.

My coloring was a total b*tch to the SA's at the cosmetics counters. LOL. Even with Px's Color Printing system, I couldn't find an excellent match for my face. And for some reason, the SA's at Clinique always insisted that I was a neutral -_-. Well, honestly, my skintone is very hard to match. I guess I can't blame 'em Smiling. I'm Vietnamese with some French ancestry. My skintone isn't similar to most of the Asian people I know: I have light-medium skin with a lot of golden undertones. I have slight beige and peach undertones as well. I don't see any olive...or pink for that matter.

Here are the colors that I bought:
**all in the Flawless Feline formula
Frisky Korat (light golden yellow)
Naughty Korat (medium golden yellow)
Frisky Abyssinian (light beige/yellow)
Naughty Abyssinian (medium beige/yellow)
Frisky Ocicat (light olive)
Frisky Manx (light yellow/peach)

I asked a lady on the forums what she'd recommend based on the picture that I sent her. She told me to get Korat, Abyssinian, and Ocicat...all in Naughty. I agreed, but I also went on my instincts and got the same shades & Manx in Frisky.

When I received the package, I was EXCITED. So, I tried them on...

Frisky Korat - too light, and something about the undertone was off.
Naughty Korat - too dark, the undertones showed up more...and I definitely knew it wasn't right. It had some mustardy tint to it that just looked odd on me.
Frisky Abyssinian - too light, but it looked better than Korat.
Naughty Abyssinian - a bit too dark, but I actually could pull it off if I applied several layers with a very light hand
Frisky Ocicat - too light, and it made me look sick. My brother's voice saying "cocaine face" rang in my mind Smiling
Frisky Manx - too light, and there was a little too much peach in it.

I would usually give up on something like this. I mean, I'm a terrible mixer...from waffle mix to mixing records. What would make me think that I would be able to mix foundations? The formula...that's what it was! Although the Flawless Feline formula claims to have heavy coverage, it's actually kinda sheer. It could be that I'm using a kabuki instead of a flat-top brush (flat-tops are recommended). I don't mind it, cuz I only need 3 layers and it still looks really good, not fake at all! So, I threw out the Ocicat and started mixing. I started by putting the similar breeds together (Korat to Korat, etc.) so that the Manx was all by itself. I tested these again.

Frisky/Naughty Korat - it still came out too dark with the wrong undertone for me.
Frisky/Naughty Abyssinian - much better, but it came out slightly too beigey.

And then...an epiphany!
I realized that I do have some peach in my skin..fa sho! So I added the Manx into the Frisky/Naughty Abyssinian mix. And whaddya know? The closest to skintone-perfection yet! The only reason why it isn't perfect is because it did come out verrry slightly light when it oxidized. I suppose I could add a Naughty Manx, but it would probably make it too peach then. But my skin looked brighter...and FLAWLESS! I was ecstatic!!

And..it's official. I'm a Fraughty? Nisky? Ahh, I like Nisky better. I'm a Nisky Abyssinian/Manx hybrid!

I wore this foundation to church today with the Premier Puss Primer and the Top Cat setting powder. Usually with other foundations, I'd get oily within 20 minutes. Not with Meow! My oil was pretty much nonexistent throughout that time! I kept it on for about 5 hours, and it still looked great!

I'm hoping that Meow has a 4th of July sale. I'll definitely get the full size primer, full size powder, flat-top brush, the Munchkin sized foundations, and the HUGE 3 oz. jar! The total would come out to be about $72 with the sale...but if it's gonna be beneficial to my skin AND last me forever, it'll be SO worth it for me!

**TIP: If you do decide on getting some samples, don't get the tiny 5g jars that they sell for 55 cents. They're WAY too tiny to put anything in...although I managed to put my sample primer and powder in them with much difficulty! For the foundations, I used those rammekins (my bro told me that's what they're called) from Quizno's that you use to put salad dressing in. And just use the lid to label whatever you put in there! Even though it doesn't have the benefit of a sifter, you pour little amounts of minerals at a time into a ceramic bowl! Hope that helps!

I hope you enjoyed my LOOONG review! Laughing out loud
