Hey ladies,
Well, I always have a spare look, just in case I can't take pictures for a while, and this is the one I was holding back.
It's a pretty simple eye and the thing that makes it outrageous are the lashes.

Eyes
These eyes take about 5 minutes (seriously!)
I primed my eyes with Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion. As a concealer I used a mix of Benefit - Erase Paste and Smashbox - Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer in no. 3. I mixed these because it's winter and my concealer is suddenly too dark for me, the Erase Paste is much lighter and more pink toned and mixing these gives me the perfect colour.
The base colour is Bourjois - Shimmering Shine Liquid Eyeshadow in 37 Blanc Chrome all over the eyes. This is a liquid eyeshadow which I blend with my finger. This gives the eye a great sheen and a light base for the rest of the makeup to stick to. A great thing I sometimes do with this eyeshadow is: Place a line from the base of my finger to the nail. I never wear rings or jewelry (except for my watch which looks like a bracelet) so adding this on my finger gives it a little bit of a quirky look. I have this eyeshadow also in a more gold colour so I use either the white or the gold for this. This eyeshadow actually holds the entire day (if I don't wash that finger to much).
But back to this eye. On the eyelid (up to and a little over the crease) I used the silver colour from the Chanel - Les 4 ombres in 95 sparkling satins, the link goes to a picture where you can see the product, I don't think it's sold in stores anymore and if you find it on e-bay it's hugely expensive, so find a silver colour like in this palette. I applied this using the Smashbox - no. 10 crease brush. So these brushes aren't just for applying makeup to the crease, you can use them in other ways.
I used the Benefit - Valley of the Starts (mini iridescence kit) which you can't get on the Benefit website anymore but I've seen it on many other websites still and it's still at the Sephora shop here, so you can probably find it if you want, but you can also use another white that has a silvery sheen and is non-glittery. I used the white from this kit under my eyes and on the inner corner (going very far in as you can see in the pictures). I placed this white using my new (favourite) Urban Decay - Shadow Brush.
I took up the Urban Decay - 24/7 Glide-on eyeliner pencil in Zero to line my waterline (top and bottom). I also lined my top lash line with this pencil.
If you want to make it ready for a party (like I did) get some false lashes and add these to your top lash line. I used some lashes by Essence which are not the ones they show on the website. They cost me E2,95 so, they're REALLY cheap. I use the Make Up For Ever lashes for "big parties" but this was a children's party that would last 3 hours so I didn't need anything to impress hugely. These lashes are actually pretty good, but you can only use them once, and the band is so weak, that when you take them out of the packaging you can damage it. Still if you're careful it should work. (I think Essence is only sold in Europe, so maybe someone from the US knows some great cheap falsies you can get over there).
Because you can't really re-use these lashes, you can really blend them into your own lashes by adding mascara (only to the base, if you add it to the tips the lashes will look ugly). Place your finger on top of the falsies to make sure you blend the lashes together and not get mascara on your eyelid. I used Urban Decay, Bit Fatty Mascara in Black-black.
Final eye:

What do you think?
I'll work on the Challenges when my skin starts acting normal again, which I hope will be this weekend.
Big hug,
CCee

1Those are beautiful.
Happiness is not, except in very rare cases, that drops into the mouth like a ripe fruit.Happiness must be,for most men and women,an achievement rather than a gift of the gods, and in this achievement, effort, both inward and outward, must play a great part.
2Looks fabulous! Love those lashes.
3I love it too!!! You do a great job with lashes... I have a heck of a time with them.

17Wow it looks stunning!
18i wear fake eye lashes quite regularly but i cant seem to find any decent glue..
does anyone know where to get some from?
I always used the glue that came with the Make Up For Ever lashes because they don't sell eyelash glue here. But I ordered some DUO lashglue about a week ago, I'll tell you all about it after I've tried it. I've read so much amazing stuff about this glue I had to import it from Sweden (yes, I'm insane
).
19ha ha it must be good to import it from there!
20and thank you, it would be great to let me know..
i had some glue before which worked brilliantly but i can't remember where i got it
Very nice !!!!
21I have never attempted false eyelashes, but I really need to. Mine are thin, short, and blonde (I am a natural blonde). Did you use individual lashes or a complete eyelash? Since I have never put any on I'm going to need help on how to do it. Is it easier to put on a complete eyelash or is that too fake looking? Aren't individual lashes more natural looking? I bet they are harder to put on though, aren't they? Please, if someone can, could you give me a few tips on how to do this? Thank you.
22Wow, great look
23I love this look, it is subtle but very pretty. You look like you changed the shape of your brows, seeing someone new for shaping?...could you post a picture of the eyeshadow on the finger thing you were talking about?
24@ MimiDeniseJ: On this look I have a complete set of lashes, but if you're starting out, individuals are MUCH easier to apply. Many people apply false lashes in different ways, on youtube there are many tutorials on it. I've been doing it the way Kevyn Aucoin did it, you cut them to the proper lenth, apply a little glue to the lashes, let this get tacky (don't rush this part or you'll have hell with placing them on your eyes) and then apply them starting at the outer corner (this way you have them starting on the same place). Many artists now place them in the middle and then push in the sides. A great in between are corner lashes, go here for a video on how to do the corner lashes. MakeupGeek also has a great video up on how to do a complete set of false lashes (go here). Try Emmy Award winning artist Eve Pearl's Youtube channel for lash how-to's (try this one to start. Individuals are easier because you sort of lay them on your lashes and wiggle them into your lashline.
@ Mojo Jojo: I always do my own brow shaping, and it differs on fashion, time to pluck, mood, brow hairs etc etc. I'll do the eyeshadow finger thing in a minute for you.
25i [♥] it !
26Nice
27i bought falsies, but i cant get them on for the freakin life of me
28Maybe you're making the same mistake I always made... the glue wasn't tackey enough. Also, if you curl your lashes before applying the falsies, it's harder to get them in place.
