With the ending of 2008 upon us, it got me thinking...what has been my favorite product(s) finds this year? I've compiled a list and would love to share:
Clarisonic - I can hear my skin thanking me for this
Redken Color Extend Shampoo and Conditioner
Bath Body Works Creamy Body Wash in Dancing Waters - love the clean fresh smell!
MAC Prep & Prime - it really has helped my oil slick situation
MAC Studio Fix Foundation
Covergirl Lashblast Mascara
Smashbox Eye Shadows - why did I wait so long to try?
Stila Smudgepot Liners
Clean and Clear Invisible Blemish Treatment - works like a charm every time!
Bobbi Brown Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Raspberry
DDF Sulfur Therapeutic Mask - I just received this for Christmas but I can tell we'll be friends forever
Eucerin Aquaphor
What about you? What have you found in 2008? I'd love to hear about it.....
Belstaff
American Retro
Milly
When I found out about NYX....That was all she wrote!
What♦They♦Envy...
1GOSH velvet touch liners! I can't express just how much I LOVE these.
)
Ecotools brushes (soooo soft, and cheap. Plus, no shedding!)
Rimmel Lycra Lash Extender and Imju Fiberwing mascaras (I love how the Rimmel looks, but the Fiberwing gets points for removal and wear)
Costal Scents silica powder (LOVE. Silky smooth, oil-absorbing, translucent, and looks great in photos!)
Estee Lauder Blush All Day in Plum (discontinued
Olay hydrating cleansing mousse (so much fun ^^)
Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection and Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch sunscreens (face and body respectively. The former is amazing, but way too pricy for me to be using everywhere!)
Happy new year's!!
2I love Dancing Waters from BBW too.
Stila Kitten eyeshadow - Best thing ever.
3Stila Starfruit lipgloss - My perfect color!
Anastasia Brow Fix - It's a wax/gel mix so it keeps brows in place without making them feel tacky or stiff. Plus, the pencil makes it super-easy to use.
AParker: I forgot about the Coastal Scents Silica Powder!
4My Chi Pro hair dryer--it dries my hair so fast!
5Too Faced Decade of Glamour kit--so many great colors and I love lash injection!
Oh my goodness... this has been such a big year for me, makeup-wise. Where do I start?
1. MAC - I got my first products from the Antiquitease collection in late 07, but I really started getting into the brand (and my obsession) in 08
2. MAC Oil Control Lotion - a godsend, quite literally! It locks down my oily skin like no other
3. MAC Prep+Prime SPF50 - the best primer I've ever used, plus it keeps me from getting a lobster complexion!
*Combining Oil Control lotion with Prep+Prime = no oil, ever. It's fab!*
4. Stila Smudge Pots - I'm so with you on this one! I got Jade and LOVE IT
5. MAC Kohl Power in Feline - this is a cult favorite for a reason. I seriously cannot ever use another black pencil again.
6. Philosophy On a Clear Day Hydrogen Peroxide cream
7. MAC Plushlash mascara - my new favorite.
8. MUFE High-Def Finishing Powder. Genius.
9. VS SuperModel perfume - I went through a full-sized bottle in 4 months, which has to be some kind of record.
10. Blush - just generally. I never realized how much of a difference it could make!
And it goes without saying that I'm looking forward to what 2009 will bring! Happy New Year, everyone!

Duh! Marc Jacobs Daisy!
7Wow I tried soooo many beauty products this year its not even funny! These are all I can think of right now....
Sekkisei soap bar for face.
8A makeup brush set from Sephora. (Waited TOO long to get one)
Nars blush (Really does look natural on the skin)
Tarte Lights, Camera Lashes Mascara. (Good brush design)
Amarte Aqua Veil. (PERFECT for Combination Skin)
Caudalie Soap Bar.
Learning about Coastal Scents
Oh thanks for the tip bailaoragaditana...I get oily throughout the day and have been looking for something to control the shine.
9Bailaoragaditana - I think I'm going to break down and get the MAC Oil Control Lotion. I do want to check out the other Stila Smudgepots colors too. So many things..so little money
10@ Scully & BabydollJustina - MAC Oil Control lotion is definitely SO worth it. I used to go through several (like, 5 or 6 or more) blotting sheets and touch-ups every day, but the very first time I used a sample of the lotion (I got just a little to try from one of the MAs at the store), my skin stayed matte the entire afternoon and evening. It was incredible. Now, I don't even carry blotting sheets anymore because I just don't need them.
@ Scully - I've been eyeing the Stila SmudgePots set at my local Ulta... but I keep getting distracted by Smashbox Jet Set liners... and then I think about all the colors that Bobbi Brown makes... and then my head starts to spin! It does seem like 2008 was the year of the cream/gel liner, though...
11I know! I love anything by Bobbi Brown - I'm a sucker for neutrals but am definately loving the metallic and bright color pallete she has released. I know everyone raves about MAC Fluidline but I'm hooked on Stila's for now anyway. Thanks for the tip on the MAC Lotion. I always carry the oil blotting sheets and have tried SO many things that do help with the slick but I can't even imagine getting through the day without the oil blotting sheets!

Laura Geller Blush n' Brighten in Golden Apricot
Laura Mercier Blush in Blushing Apple
Bare Escentual Blush in Poppy
...and that's just my favorites that I can think of now.
13Bailaoragaditana I'm so jealous. I wasn't into MAC last year and I'm desperately trying to get my hands on Ruling Class Lipstick as we speak.
14Oh, I totally understand, Jessie - I only got a few lip things from Antiquitease, and I'm kicking myself now because looking back at the collection, it was so fantastic and just all-around perfect... I mean, they always say your first time is special, but I really didn't think it meant makeup collections. But now I know better
I'm looking to get hold of Queen's Sin, Gilty Kiss, and Budding Lust
lipsticks, and Uppity Fluidline, among other things. *crossing my fingers for an eventual repromote!*
15HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

1. Two Faced Shadow Insurance
2. MUFE HD Finishing Powder
3. MAC 217 Brush
4. MAC Painterly paintpot
5. Coastal Scents 28 Neutral Palette
It is hard to list everything but these products come to my mind right now. 2008 had been a year of major haulage and for me, turning me into a hopeless MU addict in general, and MAC addict in particular. I am still discovering and loving all my stash to say exactly which are my faves.
16Hi everyone, have the best year so far!!
My faves of 2008 are Urban Decay Primer potion (it's excisted longer I think but I got to know it last year), Make Up For Ever HD powder, Smashbox almost everything
I'm also going to put my rediscovery of the Sugar network on the list
17CCEE-- those are some wicked lashes, loves them. Are they Shu Uemura or MAC??
18They're from essence, which is only available in Europe I think. But I did put some links on my blog (in the responces) about similar lashes from Sephora, Make Up For Ever and Shu Uemura.

OMG I should shoot myself in the foot.
Ojon
26Ojon
...and more Ojon, my hair says Thank You.
My favorite items of 2008:
Vaseline: Yes, it is common & I've used it before. However this year it became part of my nightly routine and every morning I wake up to chap-free lips. (I exfoliate beforehand with a Colgate 360 Toothbrush (side w/ the tongue cleaner), the best lip exfoliator I have used.)
DiorShow Waterproof Black Mascara: Perfect for my allergy eyes.
OPI Parlez-Vous OPI? Polish: Simply beautiful.
Goldwell Flat Marvel Flattening Balm: Truly helps tame fly-aways when blowing-out my hair.
JustNatural Dandruff Shampoo: Even when dandruff is not an issue, this all natural shampoo rids of build-up (especially when combined with JustNatural Apple (Cider) Vinegar Rinse.)
T3 Featherweight Dryer: This has helped my hair dramatically. While my hair can still dry out, blow-out's no longer leave my hair looking like straw. And it adds shine. Blessing!
Kenzo Amour Perfume: Like a sexy version of baby powder with a hint of vanilla and cherry blossom (along with some wood notes.)
Vera Wang Princess Perfume: One of my go-to fragrances. Warm and only slightly sweet, not over powerful.
27Best Product finds of 2008 for me:
Urban Decay Primer Potion (man, I hope they update the packaging)
28DiorShow Mascara - that brush finds every lash
MAC Plushlash - great mascara
Bobbi Brown Porcelain Foundations/concealers - best color match for me to date! (still figuring out with formula I like best)
MAC Mellow Flame Lipstick (found it in my stash and realized it's my HG - went nuts on MUA and Ebay and CCO's to get back ups because it was LE - It changed my typical color palette from dirty plums to red/pink/coral lips and cheeks and I LOVE IT.!!!!!)
Smashbox Blush Rush in Charm (From the Wicked Lovely collection - perfect soft warm pink blush - why is everything I love LE????)
MAC brushes, 168, 217, 181, 224 - changed my relationship with makeup
Nars - Penny Lane cream blush, All About Eve e/s duo, Edie e/s single, Guele De Nuit cream blush ---- (((Orgasm does nothing for me.))
Stila Chinois e/s - perfect satin creamy white base or brow highlight for fair skin
Tightlining - I have very little lid space - tightlining lets me define my eyes without covering my lid with black and making them look smaller.
youtube tutorials - I have learned so much - it's not even funny
Totally agree with details on the MAC brushes and youtube tutorials/hauls/tips videos.
And I forgot my HG eyeliner, the Loreal Super Liner in Carbon Gloss!!!
29'08 was the year of BE...
30Lot of what you guys listed are my favs too, but here's some GREAT different ones that have become staples:
DIOR DEEP HYDRATION SORBET CREME- only SOUNDS super rich....it's actually a great gel- creme for ppl who are Combo/Oily (me!). Plus, it smells DIVINE and doesn't cause breakouts or clogs, even in the TZone!
DIOR HYDRA-PROTECTIVE EYE CREME SPF 20- FINALLY, FINALLY an eye creme with SPF! I have been using this for about a year.....so fab! Absorbs quick, has SPF, doesn't leave a "white" ring around the eyes, and is anti-aging! LOVE LOVE!
DDF WRINKLE RESIST PLUS PORE MINIMIZER- MY GODSEND! This I use when I feel a little more "greasy" than usual, in place of my Dior moisturizer. REALLY DOES shrink pores, and leaves a super long lasting matte finish under your makeup! It's a little pricey ($85), but lasts me up to two months (you literally need one pump for your whole face!). Anti-aging, pore shrinking, and a Derm invented it....need I say more?!?!?!
31cuppitycake- I love your suggestions! I just finished writing how I wasn't going to buy new stuff until I use up what I have, but your recommendations are very tempting. I've been wanting to try DDF for a while. Thanks- I'll look back at those when I de-clutter a bit
32Sofi: Great! These three really are great products....and trust me, I really am the queen of returning skincare that doesn't "work" (true story!). The DDF serum is so fantastic...really! Definately check back....I think the prices on the Dior moisturizer and eye cream are $35 and $46 too.
33my mac nw 45 foundation and the mineralize skinfinish
34D*mn Tini and the rest of the BPJs - Clarisonic, it is sooo lovely. I'm in love.
Also, Philosophy The Present, really helps with the indoor and outdoor temperature changes and weather.
Can any policy, however high minded, be moral if it leads to widespread corruption, imprisons so many, has so racist an effect, destroys our inner cities, wreaks havoc on misguided & vulnerable individuals and brings death and destruction to foreign countries?
35OK I"m a little late in reading this, but this was a fantastic post.
I've found lots of great items last year, my all time favorite was finding Crest Whitestrips, seriously
36I agree bluesuze! I'm late to the game too but it's a great post with lots of good info.
I'm just starting out with the good stuff but I'm loving:
Laura Mercier lipgloss! It's totally nonsticky, feels great on with no yucky smell - it has a nice very slight vanilla scent to it.
Bobbi Brown correcter and concealer kit.
37Le E- BB corrector and concealer is the best!
38I really wish I lived somewhere closer to a store that carries Bobbi Brown! I would LOVE to try her concealer and or corrector. It's too hard to pick a concealer online....
39I've been hesitating on buying Bobbi Brown foundation and concealer online too. I just learned that a store here carries it and I've lived here a year! LOL But I'll probably wait until my bday for that(summer)since I'm supposed to finish what I have first...
40RoseWater Valley Hand Lotion and L'Oreal Made for Me Naturals in Sienna.
41BabydollJustina: I know...I received Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage for Christmas and I'm already eyeballing more concealers
Can't help myself! You're lucky you have a store nearby though...
42In my efforts to always find the best foundation, I have to say Estee Lauder's Double Wear is perfect -- particularly here in the Pacific Northwest. I also like Make-up Forever's Metallic eyeshadows -- they really pack a punch!
43I found the TeamSugar site, starting in Feb.
44I became addicted to BE in 2008, thanks to MartiniLush (thanks, I love it!!!)
I am also in love with UD's primer potion.
Clarisonic????? Hmmm.... I plan to investigate.
