Hi, I went to Sephora and got a free makeover. My skin is very dry and I was happy with Laura Mercier foundation the artist recommended. However, she was clueless as to what needed to be done with my undereye wrinkles. She put different kinds of concealers but they all ended up cracking. The only one that worked OK was Christian Dior's, but she seemed not too happy about it still. So she suggested that I shop around some more. Do you guys have any recommendation for concealers and eye creams/primer/prep? Thank you.

You have a few options:
1. You can buy a concealer specifically for the eye area, such as Make Up For Ever's Lift Concealer or Bobbi Brown's one (I don't know the name, but I'm sure other ladies here do).
or
2. You can mix normal concealer with eye cream or face cream. I put on concealer and blend it in with a little drop of cream. It sounds stupid but it works like magic for us dry skin people.
and
3. Moisturize your under area with a heavier face cream or eye cream at night (it just has to be rich, but it doesn't have to specifically be an eye cream). If you do want an "eye" cream Clinique make a lot of nice ones. I use them because my boss gives them to me for free.
1Have you sampled The Balm brand Time Balm concealer? I find it works really well. It's an anti-wrinkle cream concealer. Sephora carries it if you want to check it out.
2while I have no advice to help you (I'm clueless to make up) I would like to honor your bravery by trusting those people. My mom went in there for bare minerals help and had the worst experience...I have heard that bare minerals is really healthy though.
3xoxo...
Most concealers have a fairly good amount of moisture in them... I would recommend working on the underlying problem by finding a good eye cream. Dior makes one called something like Hydraction Spf 20 (it's always important to use sunscreen in the eye area no matter if you have wrinkles or not). I use an eye cream from (www.skinactives.com) that is wonderful and has just enough hydration without too much oil. It's called Bright-I Cream.
Many people like BB's concealer. I'd give that a whirl. Personally, I use Laura Mercier's, but it sounds like you tried that and were unhappy. Philosophy makes a really good concealer compact as well. In your color range they give you three colors to mix and match so you can find the perfect combination. I did a blog on it quite some time ago. Concealers Always settle in creases so my best suggestion for you is to use as little as possible to cover up what you feel is necessary.
I wish you the best of luck in finding products that work for you!
4Did they try this product (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P216628&categoryId=B70), "Tricks of the Trade" Immediate Wrinkle Filler, on you? It may produce the results you're looking for.
5Wren: lol, TimeBalm is one of the few ones that creases one me! Try it on in the store first, allinbee
I love the coverage of TimeBalm but hate how it's so hard to stop it from creasing!
I'd try whichever creased the least over a moisturising eye cream (apply, wait 5-10 min for it to sink in, and brush fingertips over the area to make sure it's not greasy) and primer. Some people prefer face primer there, and some actually use eye primers. Try each kind on each eye!! (ie eye cream + UDPP + concealer on left eye, eye cream + Smashbox Photo Finish + concealer on right eye)Then, pat on a tiny bit more moisturiser (PAT, don't rub) and set. (I'm using Costal Scents Silica Powder, which is a MUFE HD powder dupe atm, and it's going fantastically.)
Good luck!
6I was going to suggest the wrinkle filler MeowAlyCat suggested as well. But as Areidz mentioned, you need to solve the underlying problem of proper hydration before choosing the concealer. Have you tried any of the Clinique eye creams? There are some real nice ones available. I do like Bobbi Brown corrector and concealer and don't find much creasing when I am properly hydrated. Try one of the new wrinkle fillers, too. I think Garnier makes one now too in the drugstores?
7Thank you all for your responses. I am interested in trying the wrinkle filler. I searched online and found good reviews on L'Oreal filler and bbw (bath and body works). Anybody familiar with this brand? thanks
8I think L'oreal's is supposed to be decent. Have you checked out the review on makeupalley.com or BellaSugar's review page?
9I use Camera Ready Concealer by Smashbox. On days I haven't slept over 48 hours I use Photo Finish Primer under my foundation and under my eyes (not on the eyelid where I put my eyeshadow). I apply with a concealer brush and set it with Make Up For Ever HD powder. I have no problems with any creasing. But the highlighter by YSL (Touche Eclat) is also used for concealing under eye circles by some. I sometimes use it over my concealer to add some brightness.
10Make Up For Ever has a great palette for concealing, this means you can mix teh colours to your needs. Remember Salmoney concealer on blue circles, more orangy concealer on greenish circles and a lighter skincolour over dark skintoned circles. When using corrective concealers apply foundation over it to make it blend into the skin even more.
