Hi Ladies!
I'm so excited! Today I'm getting my makeup done by a celebrity artist from Laura Mercier. His name is Marc Bertaud. (http://www.lauramercier.com/find_artists_detail.php?artist_id=12) Apparently, he is Laura's right hand man, and I'm very excited. I will post tonight or tomorrow what he did, suggestions he made and what I end up looking like.
If you gals ever get a chance to do something like this, you should definitely take it because it's so much fun and you learn tips and tricks from the experts. Make sure to tell them that you do blogs and they'll open right up!
Wish me luck!

Good luck! I'm looking forward to hearing the details later. Have fun!
1Sounds great, we'll watch for a report!
I wouldn't wish my face on anyone...the most talented artists would probably burst into tears!

Thanks Meow! Lainetm: I'm so sorry that you feel that way about yourself! I'm sure your face isn't as bad as you think, and you'd be surprised by the miracles that makeup can do!
3Oh, I like a laugh at my own expense.
4I appreciate every bit of artificial assistance I can get!
At the moment I'm struggling with a dilemma of where to spend: I have a MAC gift card, and there are sales/discounts at Sephora and Ulta.
I'm frozen with indecision....

Good luck and enjoy it!!!
5Oh, and that's why I appreciate lurking on this group!
6Thanks, ladies!

Lainetm: You're making me lol! It's nice to see you making comments! I would use the MAC gift card as well as Sephora discounts. Ulta is an okay store, but I wouldn't recommend walking in there!
7How exciting! I can't wait to see your 'after' blog!
Have a fun, sweetie.
Lain, never step foot in Ulta...some of us have learned in this group, that the lighting is horrific. So trust me, do yourself a favor and never enter...I'm not going to. And, most importantly, I've seen your picture and you're doing yourself a major de-service. You're a beautiful lady OUTSIDE and inside. So, no more of that talk.
8Lain, check your pm's.
9areidz: I'm considering saving the MAC card for the January collections, Brunette Blonde Redhead or Crème Team. Ulta is for OPI and sometimes skin and hair care, or products with which I'm already familiar.
BB: Aw, you're too sweet.

I don't think I've ever put a pic up here on Sugar, unless I had a mental lapse after one too many adult beverages some evening.
You know how the current events / political threads are...I don't want some of those folks to be able to hunt me down.
You can just visualize a plump 51-year-old with artificially-still-brown hair!

BeachBarbie: Thank you! I'm getting ready to leave now and trying to decide what to wear.. hmm
Lain: There will some fabulous things coming out from MAC in the coming months so I would wait until you find what's perfect for you! I do agree with BeachBarbie though about Ulta. The lighting is frightening! (I guess I could have explained myself better).
You ladies know that feeling of needing to go out of the house, but aren't able to wear makeup - well, I'm having one of those moments. Dark circles be gone!
11Put on some sunglasses and have fun!
12That is very exciting! I would love to have a celebrity stylist do my makeup.
13OMG - I am sooooo excited and can't wait to see the after blog!!
Laine - sweetie, I bet you are darling! I understand how you feel sometimes, though, I detest my nose and my sharp chin and nearly cry everytime I see a photo of myself!
we are our own worst critics aren't we though??
14Sounds like an amazing chance; I cannot wait to read your post about the day.
15I didn't get my appointment after all
The artist knew I was coming and took a break so that he
could come back and work on me, but a couple of women came in during that time and he ended up working on them during my scheduled appointment. He was really sweet though and I hope to get
the chance to meet with him again. I did, however, try out some new Chanel makeup, and ended up buying a few things, including the very beautiful Mystic Eyes shadow quad. I didn't have any
foundation put on though so I think I'll just do a blog once I do it on my own.
Also, while I was there I found out that my mother-in-law had a stroke yesterday, which wasn't discovered until today. She has memory loss, vision loss and is staying in the hospital overnight.
Not a good day.
16OH, Areidz, I am so sorry to hear about your MIL!!! That is awful! Is the damage permanent? Or is it too soon to tell? I am also sorry about your appointment not happening, too, I know that you were really excited about it. Please let me know if you need anything, sweetie!!
17Thanks, Tini!
I just talked to my sister-in-law and they're waiting back on a couple of tests,
but she seems to be coming out of it. Her speech is what's most affected right now. Yeah, I was really excited about the artist, but I guess things just don't always work out the way we want
them too.
18I am so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law; I hope all goes well for her.
19Also, maybe you will have another chance in the near future to have an appointment with him. Sorry to hear about your day hopefully as the week goes on their will be improvement.
*there
20Thank you, Lee.
21OMG! so sorry to hear about your MIL! I hope everything turns out well! My thoughts are with you!
22Thank you very much Jenn
23Aw, I hope your mother-in-law comes through this alright! I know it can be really rubbish and stressful waiting around on that sort of thing
24Tell me about it... my hubby is having a hard time being so far away from his family right now. Thanks, baila
25
26Hey honey,
I'm sorry about your MIL. I hope she's okay. My thoughts are with you, hubby and the family.
I'm sorry about the appointment too! It would have made your day a lot easier!
Laine - girl, you are amazing!! Don't doubt yourself so much.
Martini, woman, you have a beautiful nose! and you chin isn't that sharp chin. You are a gorgeous woman!! And you're so incredibly sweet and nice, you become more beautiful by the day.
27oh, CCee, you are so sweet!!
28areidz, sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. Challenges are even tougher during the holidays, but it sounds like the family is pulling together. It may take a while to see how she will do, but the brain is amazing and often finds ways to adapt. :hugs:

Big
to all of you! My MIL is doing somewhat better right now. Everyone's kind thoughts and the
like are deeply appreciated by both my husband and I.
Martini: I agree with CCee, you're beautiful and there is no reason to be hard on yourself!
All of us can "see" our faults and feel bad about them, but we're all beautiful in our own unique ways and should be confident about ourselves! If we're feeling bad about our looks or ways of being, our friends are always here for us, to let us know that what we're saying just isn't right. That's one way to tell who your real friends are. They'll also tell you if that dress looks awful on you! LOL
Again,
ladies!
30Sounds fun.
