I have to say, after my huge Smashbox haul from Nordstroms yesterday, I was very excited to try it all out! (see my Nordstroms Smashbox haul post for details on what I got: http://teamsugar.com/group/88093/blog/1964867)
I fell in
with the Photo Finish Primer and Photo Op Under Eye Brightener! I also tried the Smashbox foundation (sample from the salesperson!), which I am loving right now. I am usually a BE foundation girl and have been for a few years now, but I have to say that with the combination of the smashbox primer and foundation, my skin is feeling so soft and it looks great!
I am also crazy about the shadows - they go on so smoothly and the cream liner - I can't rave about it enough! I also really like the smashbox brushes that came with the Beauty on the Go kit.
I must say that I am not crazy about the blushes, but I think that may be because I don't really like the colors that I got in either kit, so I am going to get a color that is better suited to me to try again.
The Eye Beam Double Ended Brightener is ok, I definitely prefer the Benefit High Brow, but will use this when I want something a bit more subtle. I also think the mascara is ok, but don't think I would go out and buy it by itself. I much prefer Dior Iconic mascara to the Smashbox Bionic mascara.
I am heading out to Ulta today at lunch to check out their Smashbox kits and their special freebies if you do an in-store consultation. Of course, I will come running back to the office to report back to all my fabulous BPJ sugar friends!

CCee - aren't you proud of yourself, darling???
1I truly wish I lived somewhere near stores like that. My small town doesn't offer too much
I
am excited to hear what you get though!
2Yay! Sounds great. I am glad you liked the primer- that seems to be the most popular of their products. I like it when I am well hydrated or it flakes-eh!!! Thanks for the update on the the eye brightener. I want to get Benefit's Eye Bright at this point (a bit more versatile than High Brow apparently). Very curious about trying the photo op. Maybe I can get to Ulta tomorrow- do you need a special coupon or appt for the Ulta event? Thanks for the updates
3Sofi, let me know what you think of the Eye Bright, ok? I have been eyeing that, too! You don't need any special coupons for the event, I know that they are supposedly having a special Smashbox something or other this Saturday. You may want to call your local store to see if they are giving away extra things that day! You don't need special appointments, either, Ulta is really good about giving the consults on the spot! I am going today at lunch and will let you know my experience!
4I wish the Ulta I frequent had more professional and helpful staff. I'll try and catch someone's attention! Thanks
5The one by me is usually good. The staff is very helpful, but sometimes I feel like the Sephora and Nordstrom staff is trained better and know more about the products. Does that make sense?
6absolutely- I don't get a word out of them sometimes at Ulta. I like to make a comment about it too if it is blatantly rude!
7The Ulta by me kind of sucks. I was there the other day, and asked for a couple of samples that they showed in the mail out. They were very adamant about not giving away any samples unless you schedule a consult. I felt like saying "just give me the damn sample"
8suze, are you kidding? When I bought my stash at Ulta last week, they couldn't give me ENOUGH of those samples - the chick was basically showing me the list and asking me what I wanted! I didn't have a consult - I just bought a few things. What happened to you sucks!
9Well, I shouldn't be proud, I didn't make the makeup, I just told you about it. I'm very happy you like it though!
Now it's not only me getting enthousiastic about Smashbox.
