I saw these Nivea lip balms featured in this month's Lucky magazine and knew that I had to have them. At least one, anyway. Apparently, they were previously only sold in France (maybe some other European countries too, not sure), but they're now available in the U.S. So I checked my local CVS, Target, and Walgreens but couldn't find them anywhere.
Well, today I was out buying food for my cats at the pet store, and I ran into the RiteAid next door to pick up a few things. The first thing I saw when I entered the store was a bucket full of the lip balms I'd been searching for right there on the counter! So I bought two of them:
They are now officially my favorite tinted lip balms ever, especially the second one.
The top one, Kiss of Shimmer, gives the lips a shimmery, pearly finish while moisturizing and protecting. The second one, Kiss of Flavor, smells like passion fruit (amazing!) and tints my lips the prettiest shade of soft fuchsia. Neither of these balms are glossy at all, just moisturizing and nourishing. They make the lips feel so soft. And best of all, each one only cost $2.99.

I read about these too. They are supposed to be really good. Man, I seriously don't need any more lip balms but when they're this cheap, why the heck not?
1My thoughts exactly!!! $3.00 is so cheap!
And they're really nice.
2I love a good tinted balm. I'm going to look for these for sure!
3I need those, I keep seeing them in the magazines however RiteAid didn't have them last week, hopefully I'll get to go this weekend and see if they have them. My lip balm addication is something I don't plan on curing, lol.
4^ addiction. I need to double check my spelling more often.
5oh, great find! They don't look like they have SPF though- I have been trying to find a good cheap balm that has some spf (but doesn't taste medicated-bleh) Oh, love your pic too
6Awesome! I find stuff at Rite Aid that I can't find at Target or Walmart. Their makeup section is pretty good.
7I agree, Coachluvr33...they had stuff I've never seen at any other drugstore. I'll definitely be going back!
And Sofi, I don't think these do have SPF
That's the only downfall.
8Ooh, I must have these! And I like that they're not glossy despite having a hint of color.
9Are these considered "green" products? I was reading in Lucky how a lot of lip gloss, balms, and such are mostly injected... BLECK ! I have never been a lipstick fan, but I do like a good organic lip balm. That second one looks grerat and I go to Rite Aid all the time since it is right by my house!

10Oooo great find Ema! But I don't have a Rite-Aid here in FL. I'll check CVS and Walgreens though. BTW, I use Aveeno lip balm and Carmex and I'm addicted to both of them. I
your avi. You look gorgeous!
11ooh I will have to try these-thanks for sharing the great deal!
12Renann22, I don't think they're organic or anything...they're not advertised as such, so that makes me think they're probably not. I'll have to check the ingredients.
Shopaholichunny, I'm sure you can find them at any drugstore. They also have them at Ulta, if you have those in Florida.
13I just went to the Nivea site after reading this review, since I'm beyond obsessed with lip products, and thought this link might be helpful :

14^---- where to find Nivea lip care
Found them on a trip to North Carolina last week and have fallen in love, but not up here in upstate New York yet, bummer, hopefully shortly as mine is halfway gone already!
15chellseemae- thanks so much for the link!! Not only can you find out where to buy, I discovered they do have a SPF formula along with several other types: a kiss of moisture, protection (spf 30), flavor, shimmer, gloss, relief, and rejuvenation. These really look great.
16I'll have to try these.
17I love these! I only own the A Kiss of Moisture one, which is a plain balm. I also love the A kiss of Shine ones too. I own the natural one, but I want to get the red & pink ones. Oh, and I found mine at Walgreens.
18I'd stay and chat but I'm off to Rite Aid to get these!
19Any other Canucks here who know where to buy these in Canada? I tried the link above and Safeway was mentioned so I may have a look there for them tomorrow.
20We don't even have a Walgreens round here, sheesh! Will have to order them from a website.
21I went to the Rite Aid here on Saturday and they finally had these in stock. I bought the "Kiss of Shine – Natural Gloss." (peachy yet sheer lip gloss.) The forumla isn't sticky and while the scent is a little odd, I don't mind it too much since I like the subtle color/shimmer it has. I plan on going back next weekend and buying a few of the lip balms and another lip gloss.
22I have used them for years..they are the same as Labello in many European Countries...I always used to stock up on them, when I would go back home to Germany, as I do on so many beauty products from there. I never found a lipbalm that I really loved here in the US. I also always stock up on Elnett hairspray...the best!!!
23I agree!! The Cherry is my new HG balm for day. I am obsessed
24Sounds great !!!
25I have several Nivea/Labello glosses in the squeeze tubes that I bought in Canada last winter. I am so happy they are in the States now. I haven't tried these ones yet, but I'll certainly try them when I see them next. They also make an spf 30 in the tube like these - it's great for summer.
26These are ok I bought 2 of them about a month ago. The cherry and the fruit punch ones. They feel like they jsut sit on my lips and don't moisturize. Jusy my opinion though!!
27We have had them in New Zealand for years. My favourite at the moment is Pink Grapefruit. YUM!
