Photos: Chanel Black Satin Polish (w/ review)
While this polish may look very black in the photos, in sunlight I find it to be a softer black than say "Wet N Wild, Wild Shine in Black Creme." Which I consider that a positive depending on the look you are going for. However in a regularly lit room, Black Satin will look pure black. There are a few negatives: 1. The formula seems different that Blue Satin; Black Satin seemed watery and not easy to control when being applied; Blue Satin has the perfect combination of thick and thin mixture. The end result was a nice even coat however while I will still use the polish, I did not enjoy applying the first coat of polish (2nd goes on easier. It grips to the first layer.) 2. The price. Yes, I can justify paying $18 for Blue Satin (the formula is wonderful and easier to apply than OPI Russian Navy) however I would not spend that much for another bottle of Black Satin; just not worth it. I love Chanel polish and while the finish color was nice, I will stick to cheap old Wet N Wild for regular black polish. 3. Even with a base coat, the polish chips far too easily (painted my nails Friday 8/1 and now on 8/3 I have chips along the tips. Not that I did not expect some chips to show, just not within a day. Oh well, I do like the color just not the mild disappointment.

There's nothing sexier than black nail polish! I think black nail polish puts red nail polish to shame sometimes... Love this color!
1GORGEOUS!
2I love Chanel nail polish even though they are overpriced. My fav is still Blue Satin.
You should check out the new ones, called Kaleidoscope.
3It's a great color no doubt but every review I've read about Chanel nail polishes always says the same thing - the polish chips easily.
4Yes, I don't mind paying for great color, but as you said not for a so so product! Thanks for the review and by the way, it looks great on you!
5I wish I was one who could carry off wearing a black nail polish. It looks great on you.
6I never had a problem with chipping Chanel nail polish. Having a anti-chip top coat may help.
7I'd wear it on my toes, not my hands. Great photos.
