Hey Chicas,
There won't be a challenge this week as I will be enjoying "spring break" (now not as a poor college student, but a poor grad student 
) on Galveston Island. Yay beaches!! I'll be sure to take loads of pics and maybe share a few 
So I hope my fellow junkies have a fabulous week, I'll be thinking of ya'll as I try to stay awake on the 10 hour drive which my sister and I are braving from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. (trying to avoid high-traffic times in Dallas and Houston, those are no fun!) Oh the pages of unreads I'll come back too!

Lisa, the last time I went to Galveston (when I was in 8th grade) I was attacked my 3 Man of Wars. They had wrapped all around my legs and stomach. Some guy peed on me. It was bad, and I was in shock (medical shock). The group that I was w/ didn't want to take me to the hospital
. My legs became 3-4x the size they usually are and all
black and blue. It looked like a pizza cutter had sliced them up. I still have a couple of scars. It was the worst pain in my life so far. Needless to say, I am scared of the ocean now.

30That is just horrible jgasia!! I can't believe they did not want to take you to the hospital. I bet when your parents found out they were PEEVED!!! You could have died. That just ticks me off thinking about it

and my parents were PISSED!!!! they thought about taking different actions toward the group, but nothing ever went through. BTW- it was my (old) church group
32Church!!!! That is even worse. When I was in 5th grade there was a dead jellyfish on the beach that my brother splattered onto my leg. That hurt so bad. My leg looked liked hamburger meat for weeks, so I can only imagine how bad you felt.

34LisaK, I'm from Austin and in college I used to go to Galveston every spring break because my best friend had a little beach house there. It was fun but we got in all kinds of crazy trouble with boys, cruzin the strip!
But my fav is Schliterbahn! Which is more of a one or two day thing, but they've expanded it so much it's huge! I love the wave pool!
My family is still in Austin so I go back twice a year.

35yikes, jg. how did they treat it? i know most people apply ice but i have heard hot water helps with the pain of those types of stings. i don't know why.
36aud- they put a bunch of meat tenderizer on me after the guy pee-peed on me, and I sat in many salt baths. I really think I have blocked most of it out b/c it was so traumatizing.
and I'm sure they didn't know what the hell they were doing, especially since they wouldn't take me to a Dr.
after I came home for a year or so I applied vitamin E oil (although I have recently heard it really doesn't help scars)
37oh, and I totally remember sitting in the hotel room shaking and crying for hours and hours until my body would just shut down and I would pass out. It was a cyclical thing... wake up, body shaking, pass out, and on and on
