The story goes that Mary Kay was going door to door selling something (vacuums? cleansers?) and she came across a family of tanners. Not the suntanners, but the ones who tanned animal skins. She was so amazed at how soft and youthful their skin was, and she asked them their secret. They told her that it was from the emollient cream they used to soften the hides. She bought the formula from them (whatever the original formula was, you'd think it had to be pretty basic, and she just added some kind of fragrance?), and that kicked off her empire.

I'm not too keen on the idea of just putting it on my skin and leaving there, it feels too greasy for that. However, it is the first step in the Satin Hands set. I really loved Satin Hands. Now, I'll use the emollient night cream, still use the scrubs and cleansers I have left over top, then rinse off. Then I follow it up with the Philosophy Handmade.

I hate the thought of having to pay full price, but I think that the extra emollient night cream is one of the products that I'll have to keep buying from Mary Kay consultants when my inventory runs out!
