Today at Sephora I looked at this Cargo set of "blu-ray" makeup that was made for being filmed on high-definition TV. I am totally content with my new Makeup Forever foundation that I just blogged about, but I guess I have problems because I really want to buy this too! I didn't have them try it on me because I didn't want to take my makeup off, but I'm really interested in trying this stuff. Has anyone tried this yet? The collection is a really good value. It's $59 for 5 full sized items with a value of $133. The pressed powder foundation only comes in one shade that is supposed to match shades 1-4 in the Cargo foundations. These are the lighter shades, which is fine for me since I'm on that end of the spectrum, but it would obviously be a problem for darker shades. The girl at Sephora said I would probably have to blend the color a lot to get it to match best. I'm sure they intend to expand on the shades, but for now this is what they've got. I'm posting all the information that Cargo gives about it underneath each photo. I would loooooove some personal experience stories from any of you who have tried it!

The entire blu_ray™ Collection at an unbelievable price. Limited Edition Sephora Exclusive! blu_ray, is a revolutionary collection developed for make-up artists filming in high-definition, as well as all women who want to achieve a flawless face. This collection of five products is powerful enough to provide full coverage all the while looking completely natural. Ideal for filming, photography, weddings, special events and for everyday beauty because life happens in high-definition.

blu_ray™ Pressed Powder
To provide the ultimate flawless base, blu_ray™ Pressed Powder contains photochromatic pigments so that color stays consistent in all types of lighting. The ultra-fine micronized minerals fill-in fine lines while the micronized light diffusers reflect light randomly to camouflage imperfections.

blu_ray™ Blush/Highlighter
The perfect blush and highlighter in one! This universally flattering shade has photochromatic pigments that adjust with ambient lighting to provide a natural finish day or night. For perfectly glowing skin, the irregular particle size diffuses light and creates an optical blurring that gives the look of a softer, more refined complexion. This ultra-soft formula is oil-free and suitable for all skin types and complexions.

blu_ray™ Lip Gloss
Lips are smoothed out with blu_ray™ gloss technology. Hyaluronic acid spheres and a peptide chain plump lips and smooth out fine lines, while transparent pearl pigments provide an even color payoff. The sleek compact offers a choice of four beautiful neutral shades that can be mixed together to create endless colour combinations.

blu_ray™ High Definition Mattifier
Pore refining, line minimizing and mattifying, this product can be used over make-up or underneath as a primer for a camera-ready complexion.

blu_ray™ Mascara
The ultimate high definition mascara. The special comb applicator defines each lash from root to tip with zero clumping. The innovative formula contains Panthenol and Keratin, which strengthen and improve the structure of lashes. Lashes look full and voluminous yet perfectly natural.

I've been fighting the urge to buy this!
1i know! it's just such a good deal with ALL of the full sized items in it, and i am sooooo curious to see if it works. i know i could just have them try it on me at sephora, but honestly i usually do a better job with foundation than they do.
2I've read a lot of not-worth-the-hype posts on this. Apparently, it's all fantastic makeup, yes, but no more "high-def" than the next one!
If you do try this line, you must tell us how it is!! It sounds fantastic, even if the whole "high-def" thing is nothing more than a marketing ploy!
3I'd like to know how it looks if you end up trying it. I have a medium complexion so this wouldn't work for me unless they expanded their color range. Still, I'm curious..
4I did a review on this a while back!
I love it and use it often.
5Here is a link to the review.
Oh, and my mom has been occasionally using my pressed powder and LOVES it. She's picking up her own next time she's at the mall!
6I've been wanting to try this too...I have been a huge Cargo fan for a few years now, I think their products are fabulous. I think the price for this set is really great too.
7I will have to give this a try!
8You naughty girl. You know you will get it despite the fact that you don't really need it!
Oh
well, I would do the same!
9Haha Romania! You're so right. I have bought so many different foundations this year. And I never wait til I run out to try something new. It's absurd really.
Lily, I'm gonna go check out your review right now. Thanks!
10I agree that the whole high def thing is a marketing ploy - I think high-definition basically means heavy coverage! Having said that, I have heard good things about Paula Dorf's range - she's a makeup artist who's worked on loads of pop music videos and has created a range of cosmetics which can withstand the hot lights of studios (or in my case, the hot lights of Topshop!) For more see www.pauladorf.com
11I have the powder and I don't think it is perfect, but I really like it. It is not as heavy as other powders but it covers my imperfections such as a blue vein that is slightly prominent and it doesn't settle into lines. I like it. I can use it without any foundation and it evens out reddish.
