I require three different things in a deodorant:
It has to be an invisible solid. Invisible, because I wear a lot of black. And solid because gels and roll-ons feel all sticky and gross to me, and sprays never work (do they even MAKE sprays anymore? I haven't used one since high school)
It has to WORK. Plain and simple. It has to keep me dry and unstinky even on the hottest days when I'm at my most active.
Those two are pretty easy. I've been trying different deodorants for years and have found plenty of invisible solids that work. But here's my final requirement:
It has to be UNSCENTED. And goddamn it, I can NOT find a freakin' unscented invisible solid that works!
Most of the "unscented" deodorants that I've tried smell like SOMETHING. Baby powder or "spring rain" or "original clean" some bullshizz. I just want something that smells like nothing. Does that even exist? I don't want a deodorant to mask the odor, I want it to STOP the odor. Now that I wear perfume semi-regularly, I don't want my deodorant to clash with it. And I bought a new one this weekend (Dove invisible solid) and every time I move my arm, I get a whiff of my "original clean" armpit.
I'm very frustrated. *sigh* Does anyone have any recommendations for deodorant that fits my needs?
Just Cavalli
I really like Dove... and the one I wear is unscented and actually stays unscented (I ALSO hate scented deodorants).
I do find that I do have some white on the inside of my shirt, but I think it's because I usually apply it once I'm dressed so it doesn't have time to 'dry'/settle before touching clothing.
1I use Origins "No Offense" deodorant. It lasts forever, I mean both the product and effect. Invisible. Slight nice scent though but you can't really smell it after application. But it is safe!!! Cos I heard that some alcohol based deodorant causes breast cancer or smth... but the Origins is alcohol free.
2Oh, and I used to wear Lady Speed Stick, unscented invisible. It worked well on the not smelling side, but I don't remember about residue.
3I think I switched to dove because after a while my pits seem to get immune and I feel stickier.
I've got nothing. I'm still searching for the one that will not leave white tracks...

Actually I think there had been a beauty mark challenge for this sometime back, you might get some results.
5I finally had to cave and switch to Ban roll-on. You're right, it feels gross. But it works really well, and I was having problems finding something that actually worked. Have you tried those crazy crystals?
6I have a friend that swears by Mitchum deoderant. Not the most glamorous brand, and I'm not sure if it comes in an invisible formula, but that may be worth a try!
7I am not sure this "deodorant" exists. I'm still searching, I've got like 3 different ones, it also depends on my mood.
I used a solid one when I have my armpit well hidden, if not I used a Roll on. I use Dove, but the Adidas one last a lot, but, they have fragrance. I do like the unscented ones, but they are very difficult to find.
I do use black a lot, so, when you find a cool one, please let me know, please!
P.S. I HAVE DEODORANST WITH BABY POWDER SCENT!!!

The one that I use and probably comes closest to what you are looking for is Degree. It works really well and I think it comes in unscented. Hold up, let me get it out of the bathroom. Degree Women ultraclear. "Body Responsive" in Pure Oxygen. Hope this helps and best of luck with the search!
9Mitchum does have an unscented one that really is unscented and ALMOST invisible. I wear black constantly, and I don't remember it bugging me. (I switched to a scented one when I couldn't find this once, and just stayed with the new one because I liked it, too)
10I use Dove, but I think this deodorant for which you search is like the Holy Grail - the end of a never-ending quest.
11O, and the Mitchum unscented REALLY WORKS!
12My vote is for the Mitchum too, i've been swayed several times to try others but I always go back to it... it isn't quite as invisible as it says but it's the best I've found for all the other criteria
13Mitchum's gel dries faster than Ban, but I'm funky by the end of the day. Haven't tried their solid, though.
14Do you have a Whole Foods or something there? I've seen a few different kinds of unscented things there.
15I use Mitchum. I have tried using others but always end up going back to that.
16You could try the Rok crystal deodorant, but I'm not sure how well they work, if for example you're doing exercise.
The Mitchum I got was a solid. Gels in general don't really seem to work as well on me.
17i use dove, and so far its the closest thing to "perfect". but its still not. i sometimes get white lines inside my shirt, and although its "unscented" it still has that deodorant smell. i dont know if its possible to find a completely solid deodorant with no smell at all, because i think that as an actual product it has a smell. like soap. even if you have unscented soap, it still smells like soap. so i agree with bailaoragatina - searching for the perfect deodorant is like searching for the holy grail.
18i really like Dove and Secret - just their regular sticks but those are smelly so you probably won't like them.
now i don't know the details about this one b/c i haven't tried it but have you tried the secret clinical strength one yet? it's kinda fancy and more pricey. it actually comes in a box! one of my good friends can NEVER get rid of all her sweat and smelliness so she finally tried this, and it actually works for her. it gets rid of the smell, it doesn't mask it. give it a try at least! if you haven't already....
19I have one word: Mitchum. The one I use is a rollon but I think they make a stick also. Check it out, I don't even need to apply it everyday it just stays on your body even after a shower.
20seems like Mitchum is the way to go, whip.
is it expensive?
21I don't think it's expensive. I just get it at the supermarket.
22I love Secret Platinum Invisible Solid. It' an antiperspirant and deodorant. I'm not positive if it comes in unscented...but I think it does. Anyway, I love it so much I'll use it in any scent..and I've never had a problem of it smelling so strong that it affects my all over scent of perfume.
23Look at all the options! I guess they do have a clear and unscented stick one. Let us know if you get it what you think.

PS- I also have the Lady Mitchum roll on and it smells so good that I wish they had a perfume like it. It's not a typical deodorant smell.
25It seems that ppl love the Mitchum, it has lots of great reviews.

I use Degree - works well in the hot, humid south.
I got a sample tube of the Secret Clinical strength one and it worked REALLY well. It's definitely not unscented though (at least the one I got wasn't - haven't looked into it to see if they have an unscented kind).
27Secret Clinical strength is excellent.
Also, what works for me... I try to shower twice a day in the summer, without washing my hair. Works wonders.
28I don't think I've ever even heard of Lady Mitchum. I wonder if they don't sell it in the Northeast US or something...
29OK, I just looked up Secret Clinical Strength and it doesn't come in unscented. Oh well, I don't get so sweaty that I need a super-deodorant. I just want one that works.'
And I can't find Mitchum in a solid, just gel and roll-on. Am I missing something? And I can't find an unscented Degree.
Maybe I'm just too picky. But WHY can't I find an unscented invisible solid?
30Ban makes one. But I use both the solid and the roll-on, and the solid isn't really invisible. Not any more than any other brand, anyway.
31Whip, Secret Plantinum does come in unscented. Check it out!

If, this stuff works for me, on the beach in 98 degree weather...it'll work for you.
32Use the arrow..and it will show you the Unscented one.
33Thanks, BB.
Looks like the gel and the soft solid come in unscented versions but the
invisible solid doesn't.
Maybe I'll try the soft solid. I wonder how streaky it is.
34Mine was not women's Mitchum, it was men's. I've gotten in at Safeway, the main supermarket in my area. It'd a darker green container. I know they still sell it. Let me see about where else might have it...
35here's what it looks like (who cares if it's men's if it's unscented, right?)

I think Walgreens carries it (at least on the internet site they do)
37Whip, you're right. And, I got all excited about it.
Btw., I don't like the other types of
Secret. I've never tried the Clinical, though. Anyway, I just didn't want you to waste your money on the other ones. The Platinum Invisible Solid is the best I've ever found.
38I like soft solids, but I stopped using them because they don't last as long and I'm cheap.
39I loved Mitchum, both my parents use it, but it gave me a rash. I was all excited about it. I had the unscented gel. Anyhoo, the roll-on is the one that's guranteed to work the next day even if you forget it.
40I need a new deodorant, too. I'll keep an eye out.
I stole some Mitchum from my bf once and now I swear by it. I use the Ladies formula, but the men's works just as well. I use the gel, but I know they make a solid too. Most of their smells are actually good, and I don't smell it all day, but they also make unscented. I had never heard of it until the bf bought it, but now I see it everywhere. They should have it by you, Whip, cos when we were home for the holidays my bf forgot his and picked some up at a Happy Harry's. Which is owned by Walgreens now, so do you have either of those near you?
41Hi to all.. I swear by Minty Under-army .. it is by Bliss. I am a make -up artist so I live in black.. and believe me this was a life saver, bliss stop doing this for a while due to a fault on the packaging, my world shuttered when I run out my stock.
